RS Abdul Muluk treated 4 patients was expected by BIRD FLU

As the second test result of a 14- year old boy who died of suspected bird flu shows positive, the death toll of bird flu in Indonesia has reached 70 out of 91 cases, an official of the Health Ministry said Thursday.

The boy who begun sick on March 13, died on last Saturday in west Sumatra province, one day after he was admitted in a hospital, a director of the ministry Nyoman Kandun told Xinhua by telephone.

The number of bird flu cases in Indonesia has increased recently after months of absence of new cases, putting the country as the hardest hit by the disease.

Indonesia has agreed to cooperate by sharing its bid flu virus sample with the World Health Organization for scientific purpose.

To the beginning of April 2007, RS M. Djamil Padang treated 28 patients was expected by bird flu, one among them positive terjangkit bird flu.
As for last year, RS M. Djamil Padang treated 11 patients.

RS Djamil also treated hundreds of patients that terjangkit Dangue Dengue Fever (DBD).

For the length of January till March 2007, RS this treated 345 patients DBD.
Each day, in general the patient DBD that entered to RS M. Djamil totalled 3 as far as 4 people.

They came from various areas in the West Sumatra territory. "Was based on our note, the number of patients DBD that was treated in three first months this year increased sharply against the same period last year."

In 2006, in January till March, the sufferer DBD that was treated by the amount of only 40 patients, he said.
