I suspect that this is the same case Diane Morin reported Yesterday and that we provided to Sari Setiogi of the WHO. She said no recent report form Indonesia about MERS cases... So confusion, only much more confusion....!!!

I'm surprised they allowed this man to leave the hospital, much less the country. He had to have been extremely ill.

If I remember correctly he was sick but the MERS diagnosis didn't happen until after he had left the country. I hope that is the case and not one I read of earlier today saying private hospitals were turning away corona cases unless they paid large fees up front.

The UPI article may just be a reporting error. Indonesian newspapers are carrying reports of the CoV situation in the middle east, but I have seen no report of a recent suspected case in-county. It would be news if there was such a case. Here is an article dated April 27, 2014 reporting on deaths in Saudi Arabia: http://www.starberita.com/index.php...rena-mers-di-saudi&catid=143:dunia&Itemid=597
In the text it states (using google translator) - "The Indonesian government itself admitted MERS has not found any cases in the country , but as the number of citizens who visited Arabia."
