You're not delirious. I realized that you were right, so I moved the post into the Java thread. The Reuters article DOES say "east Java", so it most likely is that family, but the only problem is that it's saying a 21 year old, when E is 25. So there are 3 possibilities:
1) Reuters is confused--they're mixing up everything too. Not a good sign.
2) This is E, but they're getting the age wrong.
3) This is another sister. Maybe Winda?...

Sister of Indonesia bird flu casualty also has H5N1
29 Sep 2006 03:23:36 GMT
Source: Reuters

JAKARTA, Sept 29 (Reuters) - A 21-year-old Indonesian woman, the sister of a boy who died of bird flu earlier this month, is suffering from the same disease, the health ministry said on Friday.

The patient, currently being treated at a hospital in East Java province, had contact with sick and dead fowl, as had her brother, said Runizar Ruesin, the head of the ministry's bird flu information centre. [Hmmmm....]

"She has been declared a bird flu positive case by the ministry lab and NAMRU," he told Reuters, referring to a U.S. Naval Medical Research Unit based in Jakarta.

The Soetomo hospital in East Java capital Surabaya said the woman was also suffering from pneumonia.

"Her condition is stable but her pneumonia has not improved yet. She is still being supported by a respirator," Urip Murtejo, the hospital's deputy director, told Reuters.

The H5N1 virus mainly affects birds but experts fear it could mutate into a strain capable of killing millions of people in a global pandemic.

Indonesia has become one of the frontlines in the battle against the disease. So far, 52 people have died of bird flu, the highest of any country, with the majority of deaths since the beginning of this year.

More deaths are feared because the virus is endemic in poultry across much of the complex archipelago of 17,000 islands, home to multitudes of different cultures and languages.

The government has also been reluctant to carry out mass culls of infected poultry, citing logistical problems, lack of donor cash and resistance by many farmers to accepting limited compensation for culled fowl.

More than 500 chickens have been culled by the government around the siblings' hometown of Tulungagung since the boy died to contain the virus.

Still being listed as 21 by Reuters, and not 23/25-year-old Eni. Most likely it is an additional sister, perhaps Winda, who was a family member tested earlier, but never mentioned further. It could also be Santi (if Santi was listed wrongly as a "brother" before). In that case:

Suspected/confirmed cases:
Abram (11) -- dead, index case, tested pos
Eni Wulandari (23) -- sister to index case, hospitalized, some initial tests neg
Tukinem -- grandmother to index case, presenting with some sort of symptoms, being tested
21-year-old sister (probably not Eni, but we're not sure, perhaps Winda/Santi)

Woman contracts bird flu in new family cluster: health official
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]JAKARTA (AP): An Indonesian woman whose brother died of bird flu this month is also sick with the virus, a senior Health Ministry official said Friday, confirming the country's latest family cluster of infections.
The 21-year-old woman is being treated in a hospital in Surabaya city in east Java province, said Nyoman Kandun. Her 11-year-old brother died from bird flu on Sept. 18. He was suspected of contracting the virus from infected chickens close to his house.
"This is a family cluster," said Nyoman, adding that the source of the woman's infection was not yet known.
Most of Indonesia's 52 fatal cases have been linked to contact with infected chickens or their droppings. But the World Health Organization said the virus passed between humans in one large cluster of cases in a single family on Sumatra Island earlierthis year.
Cases of suspected human-to-human transmission are watched very closely because they increase the chances of the virus mutating into a form that is easily passed between humans, and that could possibly trigger a global pandemic.
The H5N1 strain of bird flu has killed at least 148 people worldwide since it started ravaging poultry stocks in Asia three years ago, according to WHO. Indonesia has been criticized for failing to aggressively attack the virus in poultry, either by mass slaughters or vaccination. It has said it lacks the resources to compensate farmers for slaughtered birds. (**)

According to him, the handling of bird flu in Indonesia it was considered late.
Because related sides too much were sure that bird flu will not spread to humankind, so as the preventive action tended to be ignored.
According to Nidom at this time had two urgent matters to be done by the Government that is the arrangement.
The arrangement must be carried out by straightening out the domestic livestock breeding industry that was acknowledged as the source or the source of the problem of the proliferation of the bird flu virus by Nidom.

The area in East Java that according to Nidom must be guarded against was Nganjuk, Kediri, Tulungagung, and surrounding area.
Apart from because most bird flu casualties came from this area, there also human contact really close to the poultry.

You may well be right. It is quite funny when you pay close attention to exactly what information the media gives out, in that if there were, say, five 10-year-old identical twin brothers infected, we might end up thinking that there were 8 and 10-year-old sisters, a 12-year-old brother, their 13-year-old cousin infected, and a 14-year-old aunt who wasn't confirmed yet.

I see where I'm getting confused. 3 Clusters in Java. 2 in West J., and 1 in East J.

They are taking extra precautions with the burials. I didn?t realize they bathed the deceased before burial. Also, this explains the connection to Garut.
http://www.pikiran-rakyat.com/cetak/2006/092006/29/0102.htm

The coffin not Dibuka Garut, (HOMEWORK).

- TJ bird flu casualties were buried by his family in his mother?s village, NY.

Nur Nurjanah in the Jolokbatu Village, the Sukaratu Kec Village. Banyuresmi, Garut, on Thursday (28/9).

His two parents, Engkos Kosasih and NY. Nur Nurjanah looked very sorrowful when delivering the funeral of his child.

The parents as though not henti was afflicted by the sorrow.

Beforehand, his first child, In (24) died five previous days, also because of the same cause.

Therefore, when TJ died in RSHS Bandung approximately struck 3. 30 WIB, both of them were really stricken.

Sir ?Kosasi, and NY.? Nur Nurjanah quite very sad during delivered to this cemetery, said, one of his relatives in the Village probed the Stone.

Moreover because of his child that other, IM (15) also still was treated in the same hospital.

According to information, the three children from the couple Engkos Kosasih from the Alley of Laksana Cicadas Bandung with NY. Nur Nurjanah original the Village Probe Faozan the Village Sukaratu the Banyuresmi Kab Subdistrict. Garut, was based on results of the doctor?s inspection that treated him it was suspected of being affected by the bird flu virus.

In the meantime, according to information that was gathered by ?HOMEWORK? in probed the Stone, like that the ambulance that brought the TJ body arrived, the local citizen asked to casualties?s family that the body was not issued from the coffin let alone being bathed again.

In other words, the TJ body was asked to be buried along with the case of the death.

Casualties?s family had finally accepted the community?s request.

?Yes, is it true that we could ask that the body should be not issued from the case of the death, let alone must be bathed again in this village.?

Not anything we then felt we took part in being concerned about the disaster.

We also felt worried the assumption of the bird flu virus will eventually spread to the available citizen here, said a citizen.

Now relatives of casualties?s family, Great Gumilar admitted to not knowing precisely the illness that was suffered by his nephew.

Please refer to Post #53 for more on the "General"....

I think this article gives us a name for ?General?. Same age and location that I have in my notes. Amah, 41 yrs old., Bojongsoane (I have typed Bbongsoang, but I think that?s my mistake?.). I guess Amah is a Female? The only problem now is they mention 2 other patients, Diamond & Santi. They do not mention ?Amos - Gugun Ganawan (19) (hosp. 9/28; neighbor).

The Handsome Sadikin hospital, Bandung, again treated the patient suspect bird flu namely Amah the citizen of the Sa?pan Village, Bojongsoang, the Bandung Regency, West Java. Amah, 41 years, was brought to RSHS Bandung, on Friday (29/9) at dawn, after experiencing the sign similar to bird flu. Apart from experiencing the cough that continually, the temperature of the Amah body also high achieved 39 levels celcius. Nevertheless, the Team Leader RSHS Bird Flu, Hadi Yusuf mnegatakan the condition for the Woman?s lungs Amah good so as to be able to not make use of respiratory aids. According to Hadi, the team of bird flu suspected Amah of suffering bird flu because of being known had held contact with his property chicken. Beforehand, the chicken belonging to his neighbour that only be at a distance 30 metre died suddenly. With the Amah entry, RSHS Bandung at this time treated three patients susfect bird flu. Two other patients were the precious stone Diamond and Santi. In the meantime, the condition for the patient suspect bird flu from Kebunwaru, Bandung, currently begins to improve. The two patients it was known still were having the family?s relations with Zakaria Divine Guidance, the positive patient bird flu that died on last Thursday. Moreover the precious stone Diamond, the full brother Zakaria Divine Guidance, was stated by the bird flu negative. According to Tim Bird Flu RSHS Bandung, results of the test eurologi and the blood test stated the Diamond only experienced normal flu or H1N1. The condition for the cousin?s brother the Diamond, Santi, that entered to RSHS on Thursday early afternoon currently also increasingly improved. According to the Team Leader Penanggulan Bird Flu, the doctor Hadi Yusuf, the temperature of the patient?s body that was 18 years old has descended. Moreover, Santi currently no longer experienced breathless and coughs. Up to now, RSHS treated 58 patients suspect bird flu. Eight patients were stated positive, and six including dying.

Eni Tertular [contamined by] Poultry
Casualties Bird Flu that Currently is treated in RSU Dr Soetomo

TULUNGAGUNG - Eni Wulandari, 25, villager Kaligentong, the Pucanglaban Subdistrict, that positive bird flu not the reason tertular from Abram, his [her] full brother. However casualties terjangkir the virus avian influenza (AI) the reason tertular from the available poultry in his [her] environment.

The statement was revealed Kasubdin the Prevention and the Eradication of the Illness of the Health Service of Tulungagung Bahrudin Budi Santosa. According to him, his side was very pessimistic if the case that was experienced by Eni Wulandari was the case of the third phase. Namely the AI spread from humankind to humankind. Meaning that Eni tertular from his [her] full brother, Abram, 11, that was killed positive bird flu to last September 18.

Bahrudin stressed, that was experienced by Eni Wulandari was the case of the second phase. Namely the spread from the poultry to humankind. "Was thought by me Eni tertular from the available poultry in the surrounding environment. Because Eni remained at one house with his brother, Abram. Whereas around their house indeed was found by many chickens that died because of AI," said Bahrudin yesterday.

The first phase was the spread of the AI virus from the poultry to the poultry. The second phase, the spread of the AI virus from the poultry to humankind. And the third phase, the spread of the virus H5N1 from humankind to humankind. This third phase that currently most is frightened.

As is known, Eni Wulandari was stated positive terjangkit the virus AI. He was run off with to RSU Dr Soetomo, Surabaya, to last Monday, September 29. Beforehand, the Abram older brother was treated in RSUD Dr Iskak Tulungagung because suspect (it was supposed) terjangkit the AI virus.

Bahrudin admitted the possibility of the spread of humankind to humankind indeed was available. His article during Abram was sick AI, Eni that most often direct contact. Both for Abram in the house and during in the hospital. But, continued Bahrdin, the assumption was very small. Alasanya that had the history of direct contact with Abram not only Eni, but the two parents Siyah and Sutris. As well as the doctor and the nurse in RSUD Dr Iskak for Abram was sick.

"If his spread humankind to humankind, certainly not Eni please. But that all of them also tertular. But in fact results of the laboratory inspection of the two parents and the nurses nagatif and only Eni that positive," he said firm.

It was related that the alert status one bird flu, said Bahrudin, the Tulungagung Health Service has determined the step in anticipation. His side has mengintruksikan to the official in the Pucanglaban Subdistrict Community Health Centre to do the monitoring of the routine in the Kaligentong Village. The supervision was carried out routinely, especially to casualties's family and the community around it. "Specially the Kaligentong Village continued to be monitored by us every day," obviously him.

Especially for the citizen Kaligentong if being found had the person who was sick and was suspected, then the local community health centre must as soon as possible refer to the hospital. So as later could be done by the inspection that in more detail. If it was considered was directed bird flu will be brought to Surabaya. "Lest this handling late. Because this AI virus was very cruel and in in no time. We also provided Tamiflu for early medical treatment to the person who was suspected," added Bahrudin.
