Dr. Suradi said the victim was initially thought to have dengue fever. "But it's not true that we did not give him proper attention. We used standard procedures in dealing with avian influenza suspects."

The victim purchased about 200 kilograms of chicken meat at the Semanggi traditional market on March 15, which is when he is suspected of having contracted the virus. A day later dozens of his neighbors' chickens died.

KLB For Dengue Fever declared in Jakarta

The government of the province (the Provincial Government) the Special Capital District of Jakarta maintained Jakarta in the condition for the Extraordinary Incident (KLB) Dengue Fever.

"This KLB status has been appointed several days ago because of the number of sufferers to continue to increase," said Special Capital District of Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso in the Town Hall, on Monday (9/4).
Along with this condition, eks Pangdam Jaya has sent the letter to the Health Minister to ask for help of the medicine.

"This condition must receive attention from the government" of the "centre so that the number of sufferers could be pressed," he said.
-snip- was based on the data from the Special Capital District of Jakarta Health Service, the DBD sufferer since January 1 to April 8 2007 totalled 10.942 patients. 41 among them died.

The detail is, in January totalling 2.459 patients (8 died), in February totalling 3.552 patients (20 died), in March 4.406 cases (12 died), as well as April totalling 525 patients (1 died).

Metrotvnews.com, Bandung: Rumah Sakit Hasan Sadikin (RSHS), Bandung, Jawa Barat, Sabtu (14/4), kembali menerima seorang pasien yang diduga terjangkit flu burung. Pasien berinisial nama T, 2 tahun, warga Kelurahan Babakan, Kecamatan Ciparay, Kabupaten Bandung. Sebelum masuk di ruang perawatan khusus, pasien sempat diperiksa di Ruang Observasi RSHS, selama sekitar empat jam.

Pasien dirujuk ke RSHS dengan gejala panas tinggi, batuk-batuk dan sesak nafas. Selain itu, ditemukan sebanyak sembilan ekor ayam milik tetangganya mati mendadak. Orang tua pasien mengaku sejak tiga hari sebelumnya, anaknya mengalami gejala mirip flu burung dengan suhu tubuh sempat mencapai 30 derajat Celcius. Kini, pasien suspect flu burung yang dirawat di RSHS menjadi tiga orang.(BEY)

Metrotvnews.com, Madiun: Rumah Sakit (RS) Dokter Sudono, Kota Madiun, Jawa Timur, Kamis (12/4) kemarin, menerima dua pasien yang diduga terjangkit virus flu burung. Kedua pasien adalah seorang ibu dan anaknya yang berinisial "R" (32 tahun) dan "R" (1,5 tahun). Keduanya merupakan rujukan dari Rumah Sakit Umum Nganjuk.

Kini, keduanya dirawat di Ruang Isolasi Wijaya Kusuma Rumah Sakit Dokter Sudono Kota Madiun. Gejala yang dialami kedua pasien seperti pasien terpapar flu burung lainnya, yaitu panas tinggi dan sesak nafas. Kini, keduanya dalam status pemantauan tim penanggulangan virus flu burung. Di rumah kedua pasien terduga flu burung tersebut terdapat banyak ayam yang mati mendadak.

Selain dua pasien tersebut, saat ini Rumah Sakit Dokter Sudono Kota madoun merawat sebanyak 12 pasien teruga flu burung yang semuanya sudah dinyatakan negatif flu burung.(DOR)
