The Bird Flu casualties the Garut Resident

Last Monday morning (3/11), I saw a news in one of the online medias in Bandung. His headlines: RSHS Kembali Terima Pasien Suspect Flu Burung. "Oh, let us hope not the resident's Garut casualties?" Thought I at that time, while reading the news thoroughly. Visible if the patient suspect that the Garut resident continued to fail to be rescued, wanted to not want me to have to cover casualties's family. Tolerable if deket, gimana if far? Was lucky, after the news was read until was finished, the patient evidently lived in Street Inhoftank Bandung. "There were Ded bird flu casualties!" A cooing to Dedi Radar Garut that at that time was in me. Dedi turned. "But in Bandung," my laughter. I then closed the internet and looked for coverage material of the day. By chance, Dedi received the news the landslide in the Cigedug Subdistrict, happened around 35 Km from Garutkota. Information circulated quickly to several reporters, including the television reporter. Finally, I, Dedi, Kemal Tribun West Java, Abah Janur Anteve, Boi TPI, Cecep PR, Slamet KBR 68 H, And Kabag Humas Dikdik Hendrajaya, departed for the location of the landslide. Evidently the landslide in the Cigedug Subdistrict was not too interesting. Abah and Boi in fact failed to take this incident to the coverage material. Briefly related, after almost two hours was in the location of the landslide, we returned to public relations space. Of course beforehand we first ate the lunch.

Although coverage material was not too interesting, I, Damp, and Dedi, continued to report him. The main thing is, that his name the landslide, no matter how small must become the news for the print media. By chance, the resident 7 villages in the Bungbulang Subdistrict at that time were stricken by the unrest following the condition for the land there that cracks and the danger of landslides. Finally, the news of the landslide in Cigedug, was united by us with the resident's information Bungbulang that fled. The day increasingly in the afternoon, and all the news that was covered fully was not yet finished. Suddenly, Abah shouted. The "patient suspect bird flu in RSHS died." The body will be carried to Garut because he the resident of the Hujung Village, Desa Cipancar, of Kecamatan Leles, said Abah. Unfortunately! Evidently bird flu casualties that his news was just read in the morning was the Garut resident. I took a breath. Although not yet having the instruction from the office, the funeral of bird flu casualties must continue to be covered. "Urang earlier isuk2 geus maca the news" of the "matter" of "bird flu." Sugan other tea the Garut resident, Kataku to Damp while continuing to type the news. "Him, kudu" Abah and several friends of the other reporter, Boi TPI, Indra Trans TV, Ary Radar Garut, Aep Priangan, Deni Indosiar, and the Elshinta Verification, agreed to get a lift in the car of Kabag Humas Dikdik Hendrajaya to depart for the location of the funeral of casualties because at that time rain descended was swift enough. Indra suddenly was the driver shot. The reason not yet finished wrote the news, I and Damp planned following climbed onto the motor. "To urang nyusul rose the motor!!" Shouted Damp while glance at to the side of me. I nodded. Around struck 18,30 WIB, I and Damp departed for the Leles Subdistrict that be at a distance around 15 Km from Garut Kota by climbing onto two motors. Drizzle accompanied our trip. Cold stabbed the lungs. Along the road, the stomach also began keroncongan because from the afternoon, I evidently did not yet eat. Arrive in the Leles Subdistrict, I contacted the Elshinta Verification asked about the certain location the funeral. Evidently the location of the funeral quite far from the Leles Highway. The street that was passed through also in the broken condition. Several times we passed the dark road because in left right only had trees and scrub. After could ask to several residents, we arrived in the Hujung Village, Desa Cipancar, that was parents's house of casualties. I approached a group you in a grave and asked about the house of casualties's family. "Oh, very far" Sir"," replied this mother. "Where precisely you?" Ask me again. "Pokona Ma far, the servant oge keluargana," the mother in no way wanted to name the location of casualties's house.

Damp telephoned the Verification, asked about the existence of the party of the reporter that already more previously came. Evidently, they were being in the Village Head's house Cipancar. We following to the village head's house, was not far from our location was at that time. It was just true, friends of gathered appearance in front of the village head's house. They made preparations to pick up the body that has been in the Nagreg region. The party afterwards departed got on the car to the location of early we arrived. I and Damp followed the car from behind. Arrive in the location of the Hujung Village, we walked in the small alley towards the mosque of Al Furqon that will be made the place was buried by him the body. The reason for the stomach increasingly keroncongan, I bought meatballs knew that was sold precisely in front of the mosque, was followed by Ary and Damp. "Moderately the mall, keur ngaganjel beuteung!" Kataku. Satisfied to eat meatballs knew, we gathered with the party. The body that was put in the coffin afterwards arrived around struck 20,15 WIB and was buried in the mosque of Al Furqon. Friends of the reporter the TV busy taking the picture. Be finished took the picture of the arrival of the body, we again sat, waited for the body to be buried while enjoying bellows of the night wind.

"Gin, neangan the stall come on, hungry euy," asked Deni Indosiar. I agreed to Deni's invitation. After asking where the stall that was opened, we walked avoided the mosque. The alley that was passed through by us dark and the stall that was shown by the resident was not yet found. "Where Gin?" Ask Deni. "Teuing atuh," replied I. Because the stall will never be found now the alley that was passed through increasingly dark, we had finally failed to continue the trip and to return to the party. Time continued to crawl, and the day increasingly the night. Suddenly, Indra asked me to walk outside the alley. "Hayu mang, neangan the stall." Definitely aya, asked Indra. Than quiet unclear, I followed the Indra step. Evidently Deni following behind. A resident showed a stall that has been closed. "Pounded on then," said he. Helped by this resident, we pounded on this stall. A mother afterwards left the stall.

Our problem that at that time was stricken hungry that really evidently was not finished. The stall did not sell some sort food. We then only ate the snack. I bought a glass coffee. In the blackout, we were forced to enjoy the situation. The body has not still been buried, now the night get worse. Around half of the hour was in the stall, Deni asked us to go. He said, friends of the other reporter were buying fried rice. The news of course we answered cold, because usually, they only joked. After paying food from the stall, we departed for the location of the party. It was just true, there were no fried rice there. They were being in a house, enjoyed coffee and several snacks. "Ceuk urang oge the trick," said I to Deni and Indra. Without being asked for, I at once snatched the available snack on the table.

Strike 22,30 WIB, we received the body news will be buried. After saying goodbye to the owner of the house, we departed towards the mosque. I and Damp climbed onto the motor towards the location of the funeral. While friends of the other reporter, walked followed the party. The location of the funeral was around 1,5 Km from the mosque of Al Furqon. Because of the alley that was passed through small, I and Damp parked the motor, was not far from the alley. As usual, the alley that was passed through very dark. Several times I almost fell. The dog voice menggonggong accompanied the party's trip towards the location of the funeral that only was lit the torch and a neon light. Several times I was forced to disregard the grave, just looked for the location that was exact to take the photograph. Several residents of appearance put on the mask in view of the fact that casualties's body was casualties suspect bird flu. Appear to forget the condition, I and other friends continued to approach the grave hole without putting on the mask. Just as the body was buried, the coffin was at once burnt. In funeral gaps, we could take a photograph near the torch. Moderate results good. "Mang tingali results fotona, bisi aya the appearance," said the Verification. I smiled while seeing results of the photograph. "Euweuh mang," replied I.

Before the funeral procession was finished, I, Aep, Abah, Kemal, Boi, and Indra, left the grave first. In the unclear condition, I walked most behind. Every few the minute afterwards, suddenly, I felt not comfortable was in the position and tried overtook Abah available in front of me. "Quick euy!" Said I half ran. We had finally arrived on the alley mouth. I at once approached the motor. Friends then told Indra to take the car. Indra apparently was reluctant to depart personally took the car. "Baturan euy." Embung urang sorangan Ma, poek. To aya Nahdatul Ulama milu ignoble the car, said Indra. Damp then offered himself accompanied Indra took the car. "Hayu, I urang dibaturan," damp words. The party of the body escort has dispersed. After Indra came to bring the car, we moved went back to Garut Kota. "Mang, motorna abuskeun the car train," my laughter because rather lazy at must follow the trip headed Garut Kota by climbing onto the motor. Friends laughed. I and Damp lighted the motor and progressed in night darkness. "Ente in hareup, to me urang was guarded," yelled Indra. "Be ready mang!!" Answered I. In the Leles region, the stopping party for a moment because of Mr Dikdik asked us to buy fried rice. Finally, our suffering ended in the place of fried rice.

My feeling is the spokesman of the hospital does NOT say it is already an H2H epidemic in Semarang.

He seems to refer to the standard procedure: prevention by monitoring of the inhabitants of the neighbourhood where the suspect patient comes from.

People with flu-like symptoms will be treated with Tamiflu on the spot.

If the girl is tested positive, probably we will not know if others were contaminated too, unless they develop serious symptoms and are reconciled to the hospital.

Re: Indonesia: Human Cases 8 Oct 2008 +

So all of a sudden there are suspected cases being reported again. This goes against the official word of not releasing info. Two of these cases have no reports of dead birds, but both cases worked or lived near butcher shops. Plenty takin tamiflu now and mosques are being disinfected. The general public is aware of how "endemic" it really is. Negatives mean nothing to me. The Indonesian Gov't MUST immediately confine all chicken proccesing to centralized areas and take live chickens off the streets. The continued reckless and indescriminate deaths of children from this disease can be stopped. The Drs there are getting fed up with it and so am I. :(
