Singaporean flu hits Lampung?s Way Kanan

A state of emergency has been declared in Way Kanan regency, Lampung, following reports that an outbreak of Singaporean flu, or hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), had infected 20 people, most of them babies and children under three years old.
?To help reduce their anxiety, we have prepared several posts to deal with the diseases. The Way Kanan administration office has declared a state of emergency in the regency,? Regent Bustami Zainudin said
on Friday.
?That means that this is now everyone?s concern and requires serious treatment.?
He said the regency would provide free medical care for anyone who had the flu. ?Not only community health centers and hospitals in Way Kanan are providing free medical care, but also Abdul Moeloek Hospital in Bandarlampung,? he said, referring to the biggest hospital in the province.
