Indonesian man allegedly dies of bird flu

An Indonesian chicken butcher has allegedly died of bird flu on Monday after being hospitalized for two days.

Director of Hasan Sadikin Hospital Cissy Rachiana Prawira said that Dadan Hariansyah had suffered from breathing failure due to the pneumonia had infected his lungs.

"We have sent a blood test this morning but has yet to receive the result of the test," she said.

Doctor Uun Sunardi said that Dadan had been declared as a suspect based on a thorax photo indicating his acute pneumonia.

"He has a potency to get infected by the disease as he works as a butcher," he said.

Dadan's father, Ukun Sobana said that his son had suffered from fever since Thursday and brought him to the Sartika Asih Hospital on Sunday afternoon.

"After taking a thorax picture, my son was referred to the Hasan Sadikin Hospital on night," he said.

Banda Lampung: A patient was expected by bird flu that was treated in the Daerah Abdoel Moeloek Public Hospital (RSUD) was stated to be negative infected with the virus H5N1.

The first patient had the initials IF. Ia has been returned last Saturday. After being checked, the child was 1.4 years old that only showed the sign of common flu, not bird flu. Moreover, IF did not have the story of contact with the poultry that died around his house. IF could be treated for 10 days in the hospital.

Beforehand, this hospital treated the child with initials M. (14). M. had eaten chickens that died suddenly around his house. The hospital then immediately gave help in M. properly the sufferer Avian Influenza. He then immediately was isolated and given by help by using Tamiflu.
