Mingus. These people were the first to die of bird flu in Indonesia (that we are aware of). There were no other case around the same time.
these people came from Tangerang and were sent to Siloam gleneagles.
It certainly looks as if it is them.

So, H5N1 in Indonesia haved been linked to a big uncontroled swine outbreak since the begining!

Look at the post #38 fromMellie, many clue for some outbreaks of swine H5N1 in spring 2005. (Adaptation from bird to swine ?)
Then this cluster in July with the RESRRKKR and this gross judgment mistake of the Indonesian government that refuse to culled 200pigs !
(We culled pigs here in North-America for very less than that...)
Then the problem we face now (adaptation from swine to human ?)

The Pigs as "mixing vessels" is not just a weird theory, strong data support this (especially in North-America)

Maybe it was clear for you AnneZ, but I did'nt notice at first that this July 2005'pigs story was also the first indonesian cluster involving humans.

Why do they wait until now before investigate more about other infection sources than birds ?

If the hidden clue is the presence of the RESRRKKR in many human and swine sequence and never in birds, I strongly hope someone will publish thoses missing sequences soon.

Virtually ALL human sequences from Indonesia have RESRRKKR, icluding H5N1 from the father of the index case (and the sequence is not in ANY sequence at GenBank, including about 40 from birds in Indonesia).

My source is an independent confirmation that goes into the VERY RELIABLE category, but this is not in the public domain (but is in the WHO private database and the data was generated by Hong Kong and CDC independently - i.e. it is quite real and quite hidden from the public).
