Ministry of Health: DHF Cases Infect 313 Residents, 7 People Died

Throughout January 2022, the Ministry of Health noted that there were 313 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Indonesia, of which seven of them ended in death.

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) noted that the number of cases of residents infected with dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) had reached 313 cases over three weeks in January 2022. Of the hundreds of confirmed cases of dengue, 7 of them died. The Ministry of Health also noted that the number of suspected dengue cases reached 7,316 people.

Director of Prevention and Control of Vector and Zoonotic Diseases of the Ministry of Health Didik Budijanto said the findings of dengue cases occurred in five provinces, namely 199 cases in East Java, 81 cases in Central Java, 13 cases in North Maluku, and 10 cases each in Kalimantan. Central and West Sumatra.

"From 2022 until the third week, cases of dengue were reported by 41 regencies/cities from 5 provinces. Meanwhile, dengue deaths were spread in 4 regencies/cities from 4 provinces," said Didik to CNNIndonesia.com, Thursday (27/1).

Didik informed that throughout 2021, his party had recorded cumulative dengue cases in Indonesia reaching 68,614 cases, with 664 deaths. Responding to the findings of massive dengue cases in the community, he admitted that his party had made a number of mitigation efforts.

Considering the increase in dengue cases during the rainy season, according to him, the Ministry of Health has implemented the 1 house 1 jumantik movement in 154 regencies/cities. In addition, his party has also provided 6,122 jumantik coordinators, 4,498 jumantik supervisors and 1,047 port jumantik cadres (KJP).

"Eradication of 3M Plus mosquito nests through the 1 house 1 jumantik movement starting from the entrance of the state to households, planting mosquito repellent plants such as zodia trees, lavender, basil, and lemongrass, using mosquito repellent lotion and preparing larvae predatory fish," said Didik.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Health Ministry on Monday informed that the number of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) cases in Indonesia until the 39th week of 2022 reached 94,355, and were predicted to increase further in subsequent weeks.

"We need to take substantial and important actions to reduce endemicity," the ministry's Director of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Imran Pambudi said at an online seminar on “Beware of Dengue Spread in the Middle of the Rainy Season,” which was followed from Jakarta on Monday.

As per data on the distribution of DHF cases collected by the ministry until the 39th week of 2022, the dengue incidence rate (IR DHF) this year has reached 34.33 percent, with the case fatality rate (CFR of DHF) pegged at 0.90 percent....
