Camp closes for week because of flu virus

A southern Indiana residential camp has closed temporarily because five cases of the H1N1 flu virus have been confirmed, the Indiana Department of Health has announced.
Camp Livingston, a residential camp in Switzerland County, near Vevay in southeast Indiana, will be closed for a minimum of seven days "to break the cycle of infection among campers and staff," said Ben Davis, its executive director, in a statement.
The virus is also known as swine flu.
State Health Commissioner Dr. Judy Monroe said the department is working with its partners to monitor the health of people associated with the camp.
Camp Livingston hopes to be able to resume the first session of camp after the closure, board president Michael Moskowitz said.
