SW school student dies of fever

A Class V student of Social Welfare Residential School for boys in Manuguru died of suspected fever while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhadrachalam on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as D. Jaswanth, a native of Karakagudem. Sources said Jaswanth suddenly fainted while on his way to the toilet on the premises of the residential institution in the wee hours of Wednesday.

17-year-old tribal girl dies of viral fever in Mancherial

Mancherial: A 17-year-old tribal girl from Pangidisomaram village in Kotapalli mandal died of viral fever on Saturday.

Snehalatha breathed her last while being treated at MGM Hospital in Warangal. She was diagnosed with the fever 10 days ago. She was initially admitted to a hospital in Karimnagar and then she was rushed to Warangal as her condition deteriorated.

Fever outbreak spreads panic in Kothapally

Following death of two minors, parents pack off children to other villages
Panic has gripped the residents of Kothapally of Nandipet mandal here following the outbreak of viral fevers that has claimed the lives of two children. Many residents are temporarily moving out of the village with their families while others are sending away their children to their relatives? houses in other places.

Struck by fever that started with headache and vomiting, Soumya (7), daughter of Srinivas, and Pranay (11), son of Mallaiah, died in a gap of 10 days after being shifted to private hospitals here. Death came calling just 24 hours after the manifestation of the symptoms. There were others who also suffered from fever, but they are out of danger.

Mancherial: Another student of a Tribal Welfare Residential School died of acute fever at his residence at Karshalaghattam village in Thandur mandal on Thursday. Holding the warden of the hostel responsible for his death, students unions staged a dharna demanding justice for the parents of the student. The deceased was Pendrem Shivashankar (14), a Class IX student at Telangana State Tribal Welfare Residential School for boys, Luxettipet.

Earlier, Jadi Dheeraj(17), an intermediate II year student of Telangana Social Welfare Residential School and Cenre of Excellence, Bellampalli died after experiencing bouts of epilepsy in Mancherial on August 13.

HYDERABAD: Colonies surrounding the Gopi Cheruvu in Chandanagar are in a state of emergency as at least three children have died in the past 10 days, due to seasonal fevers and suspected dengue. The silent killer snuffed out the first life on August 25, when 14-year-old E Avinash succumbed to cardiac arrest after suffering from dengue encephalitis as per hospital records. A resident of Papireddy colony, the child?s platelet count just before death was 66,000 which was too low.

The next string of deaths occurred in another colony called Gopi Nagar. The victims were three-year-old Aarushi and six-month-old Aditya, both of whom belonged to a same family. While the reason for their death is unclear, both were diagnosed with viral fever, extreme dehydration and low sugar, and died on consecutive days of August 30 and August 31.

Two minors? death in RR Dist. not due to dengue, says Death Audit

A Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) cannot be used to declare dengue, but some private hospitals are doing so fleecing patients, aver health officials
Health Department officials have declared that the recent death of two minors in Rangareddy limits is not because of dengue. In the past one week, death of two children who reportedly suffered from dengue came to their notice. One is from Hafeezpet and the other from Narsingi.

When a Death Audit was taken up, they found that the private hospitals where the children were admitted, performed Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) to declare dengue.

?RDT cannot be used to declare dengue. A MAC-ELISA test has to be used for that. Since they used the RDT, we cannot declare the two deaths as dengue deaths,? said A. Rambabu, District Malaria Officer (DMO), Rangareddy.

Four of family succumb to fever in Mancherial

Mancherial: Viral fevers claimed the lives of four persons of a family in Mancherial district centre within a fortnight.

According to family members of the victims, Eeda Soni (29), a native of Sri Srinagar, succumbed to fever while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad on Wednesday. She delivered a baby boy on Tuesday and was diagnosed with a viral fever a few days ago, said Srihita, sister of Soni.

Medak: Class X girl dies of fever; parents protest

Medak: The death of an Class X girl student of Telangana Girls Residential School sparked protests in Medak town on Thursday.

Kavya (15), a native of Nawabpet in Medak town, died in a hospital on Wednesday night. The parents and relatives of the girl arrived at the school with Kavya’s body on Thursday morning and staged a protest. As dozens of students from the school and local leaders joined the parents, they also staged a rasta-roko on Medak-Ramyampet road demanding action against the college principal, ANM and other staff who were in duty.
