According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) report dated 6th Aug, 2012, there is 01 High flood situation and 08 Moderate flood situation sites in the country, as per details given below:-

? River Rapti at Balrampur in district Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh is flowing at 104.79 m against the danger level of 104.62 m with High trend.
Moderate Flood Site
Assam & Meghalaya
? River Brahmaputra at Neamatighat in district Jorhat, Assam is flowing at 85.13 m against the danger level of 85.04 m with Falling trend.
Bihar
? River Bagmati at Benibad in District Muzafferpur/Hayaghat, Bihar is flowing at 49.28 m against the danger level of 48.68 m with Falling trend.

Rains wreak havoc across India, 42 dead

New Delhi: Heavy rains, flash floods and landslides wreaked havoc across much of India on Tuesday. Nearly 34 people were dead and 20,000 were said to be affected in Uttarakhand, a total of eight people had lost their lives in Kerala and Madhya Pradesh, while train services between Mangalore and Bangalore in Karnataka were hit.

A landslide following heavy rains in the Kozhikode (Calicut) district of Kerala killed four people on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, the town of Iritty in Kannur district was almost submerged under water as the shutters of the Pazhassi dam in the area could not be opened.

Four people lost their lives when a wall collapsed on them on Monday night in Kolar. The wall collapsed because of heavy rains. The district administration has already announced closure of schools in the region.
