4 die of heatstroke in Millennium City (Haryana)

GURGAON: Four people have died of heatstroke here in a day. So far, six such deaths have been reported at Civil Hospital and seven in various private hospitals.
The city hospitals have been put on high alert with around 20 cases of heatstroke being reported daily.

The post-mortem report of a 48-year-old farmer who died in police custody on Friday, has established heat stroke as the reason behind his death, the Kaushambi police said on Saturday.
A mob had turned violent following Mahant Lal's death in custody allegedly due to police torture. The incident was reported from Charwa police station area of Kaushambi district.

It is now official. The number of deaths that occurred due to sunstroke in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday was 190.
With this, the total number of those who died because of the intense heat wave conditions rose to 274 since April 1. Unofficial estimates are much higher.

Excessive heat claims 50 peacocks in Morena dist (Madhya Pradesh)

BHOPAL: Over 50 peacocks died in Morena district in the past 48 hours due to excessive heat. The forest officials recovered nearly dozen dead birds and sent them for post-mortem.
The high toll raised serious concern in the district, which is home to perhaps largest number of peacocks in India. Though shying away from declaring the exact toll, forest officials maintained heatstroke might have killed peacocks.
The deaths were reported from Simawali, Mainabasia and Doraha villages in the district on Friday and Saturday. The villagers informed the forest department after they saw carcasses close to their farms.

Heat wave claims three more lives (Haryana)

Heat wave that is sweeping across the region claimed three lives here today taking the death toll to 15. The temperature touched 46 degree in the city this afternoon.
According to the authorities, a worker from West Bengal Vipul was admitted to a hospital with acute dehydration and died.
Similarly, Kherki Daula resident Dhema Kisko also died of heatstroke.

Woman dies, two faint in Hisar (Haryana)

Hisar, May 25
With Hisar sizzling at 47.3 degree Celsius for the past three days, a woman died of heatstroke at Hansi, while a 14-year girl and a 40-year man fainted due to heat in the district on Saturday.
The victim, Kailash Devi (35) of Hansi, fainted due to heat and was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Doctors in the General Hospital said she died of heatstroke.
The woman is the second victim of heat wave in the district in the past two days. A farmer died of heatstroke at Shamsukh village yesterday.
