Kosi, Bihar's worst form of death: 29 killed, beating leaders who took stock
Publish Date: Mon, 15 Jul 2019 03:10 PM (IST)

Jagaran team, Patna. The water of the river of Uhnnai is entering the villages and towns of northern Bihar, Kosi and Simanchal districts and creating havoc. Flood havoc continues in many districts of Bihar. Rain and intermittent rains in the border areas of the state adjacent to Nepal have taken a deadly appearance. Floods in Bihar have killed 29 people so far and 8 districts are affected.

Flood situation took place in Sitamarhi and severe

The havoc of the rivers of Bagmati, Lucknow, Lal Bakayya and Adhara group is continuously in the district. On Monday, floods continued in many areas of the district. The water of the river has entered the houses of people, due to which people are living like highways, major roads, schools and railways on the tracks. Even now hundreds of people are surrounded by flood waters.

However, the team of NDRF and SDRF has started bringing people safe results to a higher position. Meanwhile, water has flooded the city of Sitamarhi too. The town's Taourora Dham temple has been surrounded by flood water from around. Five feet of water flowing in the Shivar Path in front of the temple is in progress. Five feet of water on the road in the Riga road of the city is in progress.

In the meantime, after floods in the Lakhandai river, the water of flood from Sitamarhi city is spreading towards district headquarter Dumra. On the other hand, the storm continues in the direction of rivers. The rivers of Bagmati and Agravara group are flowing above the danger mark. Road communication between Sitamarhi's neighboring district Shivpura, Eastern Champaran and neighbor country Nepal is dissolved.

The Dhansi track has been fixed near Chainpur on Sitamarhi-Raxaul railway line. The carriage train has been operated on this railway. After few hours, the trains will start operating on this railway. Here, repairing damaged embankment in Sukpi and Puri is in progress.

Dr. Dr. Ranjeet Kumar Singh visited the affected areas along with the officials. DM has reported that 138 panchayats of 15 blocks of the district are in the trap of flood. Community kitchens are arranged in more than 100 places. Apart from a team of three SDRF and one NDRF team, the team of officials is engaged in relief and rescue work in the affected areas.

Sunday was broken in several districts on the embankment

On Sunday morning the embankment broke in seven places in Madhubani and four places in Darbhanga. Water has penetrated in dozens of villages. 23 people died in drowning at different places. Among them, 19 deaths were reported in north Bihar and 4 people died in Simanchal.

The areas which have the highest impact of floods in Bihar include Araria, Kishanganj, Supaul, Darbhanga, Shivar, Sitamarhi, Eastern Champaran, Madhubani district. As many as 9 people have died in Araria due to floods, while the number of those killed in Motihari is 10. Relief and rescue work is in progress in the affected areas. People have come out of the affected areas and have taken shelter in the streets.

Kosi scared in Supaul, water entered into midnight houses

Kosi has taken a vivid form in Supaul. After entering the water in the middle of the night at midnight, there was a rift in the villages inside the embankment. Someone's house was washed away so somebody's cattle went away. Water is flowing above 33.90km of the eastern embankment. This spar is very close to the NH 57.

Due to the aggressive attitude of Kosi, there is pressure on dozens of points of the embankment. Approximately 10 thousand people of Araria city have taken refuge in high places. The office of Araria District, DTO, Building and Small Irrigation Department has been submerged in flood waters. The water levels of Kisanganj rivers are now partially reduced. Mahananda's water level is still 53 cm above the danger mark.

The continuous rain since one week was a bit cold, but the trouble of people of Kosi-Simanchal has begun. Kosi has taken a vivid form from Supaul. Due to the opening of all the 56 gates of Kosi Barrage on Saturday night, about 12 dozen villages of Supaul-Saharsa were submerged. Now there is a lot of loss in Supaul-Saharsa, but the water released from the barrage is increasing the water level of Kosi in Katihar. The villages in which the water has entered, people are coming out in search of safe places.

Cutting in Navagachiya of Bhagalpur

After the release of water from Kosi Barrage of Nepal, the possibility of flood water has increased in Kosi coastal villages of Navagachia subdivision. With the increase in the water level of the Kosi river, gruesome erosion has started in Kharak and more than half a dozen villages of Bihpur block. There is a threat to the survival of the villages. The villagers have started migrating from these villages. Due to the removal of luggage from their homes, dozens of families have left for safe place.

Beating MP in Madhubani

Jhansharpur MP Rampreet Mandal had to face protests in Nuru village. In fact, MP Kamla Bahan had come to know the situation of the people on the dam breaking the river. He started coming back after knowing the trick.

He did not give any assurance to run any rescue operation to save the people. They had to face tremendous opposition from villagers. Somehow MPs were rescued and they were safely taken out.

Flood victims in Araria

Flood victims armed with a stick stick at the FarbisGanj Block headquarters surrounded the MP on Sunday evening. People accused flood relief materials not reaching victims, and the MPs were falsely falsely proclaimed.

The angry victims said, do we vote so? Walk with us and see how bad we are with the flood. After this, the MP visited the affected villages under the pressure of the victims. He assured all possible help at the government level as soon as possible.

Flood waters reach two thousand houses of Muzaffarpur

In Muzaffarpur district, despite the water level of the Bagmati river remained stable, the situation of flood in Katra and Aurai remained fragile. Flood water has entered into two thousand houses. Water is entering fast in new areas of Eastern Champaran. Eight deaths have died due to drowning here.

CM Nitish visits affected areas

After reviewing the flood, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the affected areas on Sunday and issued instructions to accelerate the relief and rescue work after flying. CM Nitish conducted aero survey of Shivar, Sitamarhi, Motihari, Mighabani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur. During this time the Minister of Water Resources was present with CM.
