Assam: Hojai SOS children?s village minor dies of Japanese Encephalitis

One minor child Masum Khan, around 10 years old, of SOS Children?s Village, Hojai died of Japanese Encephalitis on Friday at around 7:25 pm at Guwahati Medicial College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati.
Talking to this correspondent, Paresh Badyakar, village director, said, ?We already informed about the child one month ago to the concerned authority that he is suffering from acute Japanese Encephalitis.?
Badyakar shared the information that on May 29 last, the child had mild fever.

Japanese fever drops in Assam: death toll rises to 74
The National Health Mission has stated in the released figures that 343 cases have been found positive. In order to control the situation, the state government has canceled all vacancies of doctors, nurses and other employees of Health Sector till September 30.

Japanese Encephalitis (JE) claimed one more life in the State. The victim has been identified as Kamruj Jaman (72) of Turai village in Sipajhar and was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Guwahati.
