The suspected Chandipura virus has resurfaced in the districts of Central Gujarat. Particularly in Panchmahal and Dahod districts, the epidemic caused by "sandfly" has created havoc. A one-year-old child from Dahod, who fell victim to the suspected "sandfly" disease, died today (July 5, 2025) at Sayaji Hospital.

While among three other children, two are being treated in PIC, and one has been shifted to the general ward as their condition improved.
