Authored By Chitradeep Chakraborty Produced by Ayantika Saha Hey Samay28 Aug 2024, 4:33 pm

In the neighboring state of Odisha, the bird flu graph is upward. The administration there has issued a warning about eating chicken. West Bengal is also concerned about the matter. This is what the health officials of the state said. Odisha's poultry trade with this state has been temporarily cut off for the time being. But the ray of hope is that the bird flu in Odisha is not yet completely out of control.

Highlights
  • A graph of upward trending bird flu in the neighboring state of Odisha
  • The Odisha government has also issued a warning about eating chicken
  • West Bengal is cautious in this situation
This time: Bird flu graphs on the rise in neighboring Odisha. At least five thousand chickens have been slaughtered by the administration in Puri district, a favorite destination of Bengalis. The Odisha government has also issued a warning about eating chicken. In this situation, West Bengal is on alert - this is what the state's health officials say.

For the time being, all the poultry trade relations with Odisha have been temporarily severed. State Health Officer Debashis Halder said Odisha's bird flu has not gone out of control yet. The situation is being monitored. Even the Union Health Ministry has not yet announced anything about awareness measures among the public. If the center says, it will be done.....

...General Secretary of West Bengal Poultry Federation Madanmohan Maiti said, 'From last Sunday, a circular has been given to sever all poultry trade relations between Bengal and Odisha for 15 days. Two Midnipur poultry traders have been specially warned. He said, since the Pipili area is near the Chilka lake, there is an outbreak of bird flu almost every year in the area due to the contact with the migratory birds. There is nothing to worry about in Bengal.

Bird flu in Pipili, even after the announcement of containment, chickens are running in the middle of the night!

Kanas 28.8: Anayat is bird flu in Pipili. The Rapid Response Team continues the campaign to kill the chickens. A team of 23 people will be deployed in Pipili and 14 people in Satavashta. Within 4 days, 28 thousand 255 broilers, 155 native chickens, 74 native eggs, 2 birds have already died. In suspicion, the administration employed 28 Asha workers for 40 villages in Pipili.
On the other hand, while the Sarangodi administration has announced a containment zone in Sarangodi panchayat, so far 202 people have been treated for fever and cough in the surrounding areas of Pipili.
On Wednesday, the RR team continued to search the farms and houses in the infected areas to see if there were any more chickens. "If it is found, it will be killed," said the Pipili veterinarian. Besides, it is assumed that these chickens may have been infected when the chickens were transported from Pipili to other places. There are thousands of chickens running in the afternoon or at night. There is a doubt as to whether this meat is infected or not while the chicken meat is being sold in various shops in Pipili Bazar.
