Around 50 black kites die mysteriously in 24 hours in Bengal?s Siliguri

Authorities have sent viscera samples of the birds to Kolkata for tests to determine the cause of their death.

Nearly 50 black kites were mysteriously found dead in Siliguri. An investigation is underway in this regard to ascertain the reason behind the deaths. The wildlife experts and veterinary doctors suspect food poisoning may be the cause of death because these birds are scavengers. The post-mortem was conducted and viscera samples have been sent to Kolkata for tests. It is also reported that many others kites were recovered in sick condition, who are undergoing treatment.
