According to the Ministry of Health in 2011 so far have been little more than 200 000 cases of acute respiratory infections. In addition, 5,000 cases of pneumonia recorded in the public health system, ie 500 more than in 2010.
"There is a moderate increase in pneumonia, and in the case of admissions for pneumonia last year had 1.400 and 1.600 this, ie 200 cases," said Eduardo Espinoza, Deputy Minister for Health Policy.
