Zacatecas, Zech "In this winter season in Zacatecas have recorded an average of 17 000 cases of acute respiratory diseases as a result of drastic temperature changes throughout the country, said public health director, Jaime Zavala Moreno.
This means an increase of almost 30 percent, related to the cases of 2009, which were respiratory diseases in the state, only in the agency areas.
This has led, Zavala said Moreno, a large demand for health services to meet the medical units and hospitals have installed capacity, which provides care to the population, he said.
Zavala Moreno reported that "at the hospital have increased from eight to 15 percent of these diseases, but fortunately not the severity who were previously."
He recalled that one of the most effective in preventing respiratory complications is vaccination against influenza, and openly invited the community to the vaccine offered in the Health Services Zacatecas (SSZ).
To date, 50 000 doses are, however continue to come from the Federation to supply vaccine lots to the extent that this drug is required, he added.
With the imminent arrival of cold fronts over the capital of Zacatecas, Zavala Moreno chose the continued adoption of preventive measures at home, by parents to children and the elderly.
These are simple: to avoid sudden changes in temperature, eating foods rich in vitamin C and above to avoid self-medication, because chances are viral conditions that bacteria can become, "which compromises the patient's recovery," he said.
Finally, public health director of the SSZ, adding that there is no report in the institution of any outbreak of influenza A (H1N1).
