I went through some of the MMWRs beginning this year, comparing the cases of Streptococcus P. this year to the same time periods last year. I'm puzzled by the large increase this year. The rates have stayed pretty much the same for children under 5 but what has happened with the "all ages" group?

But looking at the latest MMWR report, it states that NYC has 255 cases this year compared to 4 in 2009 at this time; 255 seems low for being halfway through the year.
