Pregnant women are still the main victims of the deadly virus of influenza A H1N1.

Health officials confirmed yesterday the fourth victim of hemorrhagic dengue in the country.

The deceased is a woman of 36 years from the Honduran capital.

School Hospital director Juan Ramon Barahona, said the lady was admitted on Tuesday just happened to this health center, all efforts were made but the disease Wednesday night ended with the life of the lady, who leaves four children.

Baker said that in recent days has increased the attention of people with symptoms compatible with dengue hemorrhagic fever.

Two pregnant women are torn between life and death from influenza A H1N1, reported Tuesday the health authorities in Honduras.

Honduras is the third of deaths in Central America for influenza A/H1N1, according to the latest report issued by the Pan American Health Organization, PAHO.

The report says that deaths in the first instance is Costa Rica, with 36 cases, followed by El Salvador, with 22 deaths and Honduras third with 16.

To date 562 cases have been confirmed positive and are estimated at over two thousand suspected cases of the disease.

The PAHO report also detailed that Honduras is the lowest recorded number of confirmed cases also revealed that in the last week no new cases have been identified.

Influenza A H1N1 continues to threaten to Honduras. Health officials this afternoon confirmed three new cases of the virus.

TEGUCIGALPA .- Health officials yesterday confirmed four new cases of influenza A (H1N1), three are for the previous year and one to 2010.


To prevent the spread of the virus, doctors recommend that patients use a mask.
The head of Epidemiological Surveillance, Marco Pinel, there are several cases reported in research to be confirmed or discarded by the Reporting Committee this week.

"We have confirmed four new cases of influenza A (H1N1), three are of those who were awaiting certification of 2009 and only one is part of the contagion of this year," Pinel said.

He said that this virus remains in the country, but causing no contagion, however, is not excluded that there is a new wave of this disease in the course of the year, but will hopefully not be as deadly.

So far recorded 623 cases of the virus and 16 deaths in the country, cases were registered from May of 2009, with infection reported in just this January.

The doctors recommended washing hands permanently, as it is one of the most effective measures to prevent transmission of influenza A H1N1, like coughing or sneezing in the forearm and not your hands.

Also, those with flu are advised to use a mask to prevent spreading the virus and that in case of complications come immediately to public health centers.

The most common symptoms of the disease include severe headache, high fever, vomiting, abdominal pain and malaise.

TEGUCIGALPA .- The authorities of the Ministry of Health on Monday confirmed five new cases of influenza A (H1N1) in La Ceiba, Atlantida, bringing the number of infections so far this year comes to guns.
