A Maine West freshman has been diagnosed with the whooping cough, according to post on District 207′s website.

The McHenry County whooping cough outbreak has reached a record number of 254 cases.

The increase
As of late last week, 50 cases of pertussis, also known as whooping cough, have been reported throughout Kane County.

That?s up from 32 cases all of last year. And about 20 new cases were reported in December of this year alone...
