Flu season is taking a heavy toll on the elderly in Idaho. Since the flu season began in October, state health officials are already reporting 17 deaths in the Gem State, all over the age of 50.
At least 10 of the 17 deaths were reported from here in Southwest Idaho. The State Department of Health and Welfare said emergency rooms and doctors offices are still full of patients with the flu.
The leaders of the Nampa Senior Center told us they're doing all they can to keep their seniors safe with extra hand sanitizers and telling anyone, who is not feeling well to not come to the center.
