It's not just the cases of swine flu that are on the rise in the State capital. General practitioners here are reporting a spike in viral fever cases too. Many are also confirming prevalence of measles, mumps and chicken pox among children in the capital.
The Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV), which causes chicken pox among children, is on the rise in capital this summer. Traditionally, months between January and May are known for the virus to thrive leading to spurt in cases of chicken pox in Hyderabad, physicians point out.
