This is reminiscent of the Egyptian government's freakout during the H1N1 swine flu pandemic: They ordered the slaughter of countless pigs, which in Egypt had been used as living garbage recyclers. So garbage just piled up, and Egyptians continued to fall ill with H1N1."

He is correct about the Egyptian pig slaughter.
