Following the death Wednesday of an 8-year-old Union Township, Hunterdon County resident, John Beckley, director of the Hunterdon County Health Department, confirmed that the boy died of a form of bacterial meningitis known as meningococcal invasive disease.

No specific information about the victim's identity or how he contracted the disease was available from officials...
