The total number of active COVID-19 cases is 832. The results show that 39 percent of those infected, 60 percent of the deceased, and 47 percent of those recovered live in Budapest. There are currently 150 patients hospitalized with the coronavirus, 9 of whom are on ventilators.

The number of registered coronavirus infections in Hungary has increased by 21 to 4,505 over the past 24 hours, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Friday morning. The number of fatalities remains unchanged at 596, while 3,353 people have made a recovery. There are 556 active infections and 73 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital for Covid-19, six on ventilators.

The number of registered coronavirus infections in Hungary has gone up by 22 to 4,768 over the past 24 hours, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Wednesday morning.

The number of fatalities remains unchanged at 605, while 3,529 people have made a recovery.

There are 634 active infections and 64 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital for Covid-19, five on ventilators.

Hungary will close its borders to non-residents from Tuesday to try and curb the increasing number of coronavirus cases, the government said on Friday.

The move comes as several European countries implement stricter COVID-19 measures.

"From September 1, foreign citizens will no longer be allowed to enter the territory of Hungary," Gergely Guly?s, the prime minister Viktor Orb?n’s cabinet chief said during a press briefing.
