Three paediatric cases reported in Zhejiang in the same location in 3 days

In the latest three days we observed three new paediatric cases reported from Zhejiang Province Department of Health in the same location:

• #373 - Girl, 2, Dongyang City. Confirmed on February 25, has developed a mild illness, treatment in a hospital in Jinhua. Zhejiang province
• #377 - Girl, 7, Dongyang City. Confirmed on February 27, in serious condition, treatment at a hospital in Jinhua. Zhejiang province
• #378 - Girl, 6, Dongyang City. Confirmed on February 27, in serious condition, treatment at a hospital in Jinhua. Zhejiang province

Age, location and timing may suggest this may be a cluster of cases.

Notably, the 2nd and 3rd cases are reported as in serious condition; almost all previous notified paediatric cases in China were mild.

This feature may signal an epidemiological change in Zhejiang that deserves careful monitoring and assessment.

Hunan province added 1 H7N9 avian influenza confirmed a total of 15 cases of human infections
On February 28, added 1 new case of human infection in Hunan province H7N9 avian flu confirmed cases, for our province's 15th case confirmed cases. Case of Shaw, male, 32 years old, Fuchuan County of Guangxi Province who now lives in Chenzhou Jiahe County, CHENZHOU, currently under hospital for medical treatment. As of February 26, the province had confirmed 14 cases of human infection H7N9 avian flu cases, 4 deaths. (Securities times Net News Center)
