Latest information on human avian influenza A(H5N1) cases
Since 2003, the number of cases reported from 15 countries worldwide is 647, of which 383 were fatal (CFR 59.2%). Among the countries in the Western Pacific Region with more than 10 reported cases,
Cambodia had the highest CFR of 70.2% (33 out of 47).
Age distribution of the reported cases ranged from 3 months to 81 years old (median 18 years, n=624. The age group with the largest number of cases was 20-29 years of age (22.3%, 139/624), relative to other age groups (0-4; 5-9; 10-19; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+ years). The highest CFR (73.4%) was among persons 10-19 years of age and lowest was among persons 50-59 years old and 70+ years old (both 25.0%). 53.5% of the cases were female (333/622). However, age and sex distributions vary by country.

The twenty-sixth case is a 29 year old male from M, Kaun Demrei village, Steung Trang commune, Salakrao district, Pailin province, with fever onset on 26 Oct 2013 was admitted to Battambang Provincial hospital on 3 November. Tamiflu was administered on 6 November and died on the same day. The case reportedly had direct contact with sick and dead poultry.
The twenty-fifth case is a 3 year old male from Veal Vong village, Sendey commune, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province, with fever onset on 5 November, was admitted to Kantha Bopha Hospital, Phnom Penh on 8 November. He had contact with dead chickens.
The twenty-fourth case is a 10 year old male from Duk Phlork village, Tor Tung commune, Dorng Tung district in Kampot province, with onset on 28 October 2013, admitted admitted to Kantha Bopha Hospital, Phnom Penh on 7 November
and died. He had contact with dead chickens.

Since it was reported on the 15 of November 2013.. Still missing is 31F Bekasi Fatality. Again once confirmed by WHO this will be [n=648 (384)!
