How to know that the virus is exactly generated by reassortment?

Let's imagin.
If we can isolate one influenza virus and do sequencing to get seq of all 8 fragments.

The next thing to do is to Blast HA and NA to know which influenza subtype that we get.

But, how about other six genes?
For example, PB2, sometimes when I did blast, the result showed that more than one subtype of flu that have score and percent identity to this fragment. So, how to determine which one is correct?

I am now a little bit confuse:confused:

different serotypes can have very similar inner genes.
In fact, that's what we got from the reassortments.

But also the diversity in other genes is much smaller.
When there are 16 different HAs, then there are only
1 or 2 different PB2s,PAs, etc.

There are FAR more than 1 or 2 different PB2s, PAs etc.

So, how can I find out from which subtype the internal genes come before the reassortment took place, since they are very similar.
