HOUSTON - Two swine flu deaths confirmed Wednesday have brought the H1N1 death toll in the Houston area up to 15, FOX 26 News has learned.
One of the deaths confirmed Wednesday Houston male between the ages of 25 and 49 years died Oct. 2. The other victim died on Sept. 23 and is male between the ages of 25 and 49 from Harris County.
The 15-count death toll includes residents of Harris County; Fort Bend County; Brazoria County and residents from inside the Houston city limits. Seven deaths occurred in Harris County, and five others were residents of the city of Houston.
Harris County's death toll does not include the number of deaths reported inside in the Houston city limits.
Fort Bend County Health Department Spokesman David Whamoe said someone between the ages of 10 and 18 died in May, and a child between 0 and 6 months died in September.
Brazoria County Health Department Director Dr. Leo Gorman said the state's health department notified the county of a Brazoria County resident's death, but no other details were provided.
