IL : 5/4 18:54 entry: The University of Chicago Medical Center says two of its employees have probable cases of swine flu.
In a press release late Wednesday, the hospital said the two people are among nine Illinois cases reported earlier in the day by state health officials. The release says the employees, while contagious, had no contact with patients and limited contact with hospital staff.
The center says an infection control team has identified co-workers who came in contact with the sickened employees, and other staff and patients with flu symptoms are being screened. The hospital says the two ill employees are "recovering well" at home.
NH: 5/4 19:08 entry:
The first worker to fall ill did not come to work while symptomatic. A third worker is being tested after showing signs of flu, but those preliminary results are not in yet. Neither of the first two employees had any connection to each other or to Mexico, adding to evidence that the illness is spreading widely within the borders of the United States. "We are not interpreting these two cases as transmission within the hospital walls," he said. "We do believe there was community transmission. These people were exposed to somebody who gave it to them. We don't know who that was."

Re: Hospital staff flu by state

Late last week there was a suspected case in Ohio at the OSU Medical Center. They claimed that the infected medical worker did not catch the virus at the hospital. 5 medics were also given Tamiflu and isolated after being exposed to her.
