Re: Hospital for Tropical Diseases Central newly inaugurated negative pressure isolation rooms

Is the female case with onset 5/5 a new case? And if so, are we sure it is an H5N1 case and not some other form of severe pneumonia?

Udpate: Article #2 says it wasn't an H5N1 case - it was just a pregnant woman with pneumonia (H1N1?).

Re: Hospital for Tropical Diseases Central newly inaugurated negative pressure isolation rooms

It seems that three patients have been treated in the negative isolation room. One a male, 22, Trung Van H., from Cho Moi, Bac Kan was a confirmed case of H5N1 infection.

The other two were apparently pregnant women. One is referenced by name in the first post as Xoan Do Thi, 19, from Hai Duong province. She is also identified as an H5N1 victim in this post. Because there have been no recent news articles about any individuals from Hai Duong being infected with H5N1, this is most likely a reporting error. The second post is most likely correct that the two pregnant women were suffering from viral pneumonia.
