Number of influenza cases causing temporary visitation policy change, crowded ER; visits by those under age 16 temporarily suspended

Due to the severity of the flu, children under the age of 16 are currently not being allowed to visit patients in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. We are asking all families to make arrangements to avoid bringing siblings and family members to the hospital. By limiting hospital access to children, we are hoping to prevent and reduce the spread of the flu in our community. Thank

Emergency Room visits up, leading to lengthy delays
We are currently experiencing high volumes in the emergency room due to the number of individuals with the flu in our community. We apologize for any lengthy delays during your visit. We encourage all individuals that have a primary care physician to make an appointment with their physician for treatment. Please be patient with our staff as we do our best to provide care to the large volume of patients that need our services.
Community Care at Memorial opens
You are also welcome to take advantage of the newly opened Community Care at Memorial located at 1330 Church St. Community Care hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2:30 pm to 11 p.m. and Wednesday from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. For more information on Community Care, please call 903-885-2961.
