Hong Kong should enforce tight infectious control measures against the Zika virus after a survey over the border in Guangdong identified ?silent carriers? of the virus for the first time, a leading authority said on Wednesday.
Six out of 350 Chinese who lived in Venezuela but often travelled back home tested positive for the virus even though none had displayed any symptoms of sickness, said Professor Zhong Nanshan, director of the China State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease and a world expert on the Sars virus.
