The Centre for Health Protection has collaborated with the Hospital Authority and private hospitals to monitor influenza associated intensive care unit (ICU) admissions or deaths (aged 18 years or above) since Jan 13, 2012. As of Mar 7, there were 57 cases of influenza associated ICU admissions or deaths, in which 34 of them were fatal.
自 2012 年1月 13日起，衞生防護中心聯同醫院管理局及私家醫院監察流感相關而需入住深切治療部或死亡個案(年齡為十八歲或以上)的統計數字。截至3月7 日，本中心目前共錄得57 宗流感相關而需入住深切治療部或死亡的個案，當中34 宗為死亡個案。

In week 9, the number of influenza viruses detected in the Public
Health Laboratory Centre was 426, including 332 influenza B

In week 9, there were no new reports of severe paediatric influenza-associated complication/death. In the first 4 days of week 10 (Mar 4 to 7, 2012), one case of severe paediatric influenza-associated complication involving a girl aged 6 years old who had developed severe pneumonia was reported. She is now in stable condition. Her nasopharyngeal aspirate specimen was tested positive for influenza B.

In week 10, there were no new reports of oseltamivir (Tamiflu) resistant influenza A(H1N1)2009 virus infection. In the first 4 days of week 11 (Mar 11 to 14, 2012), one case of oseltamivir (Tamiflu) resistant influenza A(H1N1)2009 virus infection involving a 61-year-old man who had developed severe pneumonia was reported. He had been discharged. The virus strain detected was sensitive to zanamivir (Relenza). There are totally 18 reports of resistance to Tamiflu in strains of influenza A(H1N1)2009 virus detected in Hong Kong since 2009.

In the first 4 days of week 12 (Mar 18 to 21, 2012), there were no new reports of severe paediatric influenza-associated complication/death.

In week 20, one case of oseltamivir (Tamiflu) resistant influenza A(H1N1)2009 virus infection involving a 3-year-old girl who had developed fever was reported. She had recovered. The virus strain detected was sensitive to zanamivir (Relenza). In the first 4 days of week 21 (May 20 to 23, 2012), there were no new reports of oseltamivir (Tamiflu) resistant influenza A(H1N1)2009 virus infection. There are totally 19 reports of resistance to Tamiflu in strains of influenza A(H1N1)2009 virus detected in Hong Kong since 2009.

As of Jun 13, there were 268 cases of influenza associated ICU admissions or deaths, in which 173 of them were fatal.
自 2012 年1月 13日起，衞生防護中心聯同醫院管理局及私家醫院監察流感相關而需入住深切治療部或死亡個案(年齡為十八歲或以上)的統計數字。截至6月 13日，本中心目前共錄得 268宗流感相關而需入住深切治療部或死亡的個案，當中173 宗為死亡個案。
