Hong Kong researchers say one in every 100 apparently healthy birds on sale across the border in southern China is infected with bird flu.

It is a statistic that suggests the spread of the H5N1 strain of bird flu could be far greater than previously thought.

Ten people have now died from H5N1 in China - the most recent death was last weekend.

Asia Correspondent Ian Williams reports on how the authorities are being accused of covering up the true scale of the disease.
