Hong Kong, Government on alert over H7N9

The Health Secretary, Ko Wing-man, has said the government will closely monitor the potential spread of the H7N9 virus on the mainland, after a man from Zhejiang came down with the bird flu strain several days ago.
Dr Ko said there is no evidence so far to suggest that there is a high chance of human-to-human transmission, but he stressed the government will stay on the alert.
On a separate matter, Dr Ko said a lower-than-expected 2.8 percent of patients have so far tested positive for an anti-biotic superbug at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He said similar screening procedures will also take place at other public hospitals in the coming month.
