As at noon today (March 4), public hospitals had reported to the Department of Health the admission of 43 patients (20 male and 23 female, aged 22 to 92) in the past 24 hours who met the reporting criteria of COVID-19. Appropriate tests have been arranged for the patients.

There are 110 patients under isolation currently. So far, 43 patients with the COVID-19 infection have been discharged upon recovery.

The Hospital Authority will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.

CHP investigates four additional cases of COVID-19

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) announced that as of 8pm today (March 4), the CHP is investigating four additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, taking the number of cases to 105 in Hong Kong so far (comprising 104 confirmed cases and one probable case).

​ Two of the confirmed cases today are associated with the cluster related to a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She. One of the patients is a 43-year-old man (the 102nd case) with good past health. He is the person-in-charge of Fook Wai Ching She and lives there alone. He was asymptomatic all along and earlier sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is now under treatment at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient did not have recent travel history but had visited Emeishan City in Sichuan Province from January 17 to 20.

​ The other case involves a 57-year-old female (the 103rd case) who is the domestic helper of the patients of the 76th (who had visited Fook Wai Ching She) and 91st cases confirmed respectively on February 24 and 26. The patient has good past health and lives in Phase 1 of Redhill Peninsula in Tai Tam. She was asymptomatic and was earlier sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She is now under treatment at Queen Mary Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history and had not visit Fook Wai Ching She. Her close contacts (except the two confirmed patients), namely her employer and employer’s son have earlier been arranged for quarantine.

​ The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the 102nd and 103rd cases together with the patients of the 64th, 65th, 70th, 73rd, 74th, 76th, 77th, 83rd, 84th, 86th, 89th, 91st, 92nd, 93rd, 95th and 98th cases announced earlier (18 patients in total) had either visited Fook Wai Ching She in Maylun Apartments in North Point in January or February or had association with confirmed cases who had been to the temple. People who had visited the temple on January 25 onwards are again urged to call the CHP hotline and those who developed relevant symptoms will be arranged to hospitals for treatment.

The third case involves a 62-year-old female patient (the 104th case) who is the wife of the 63-year-old male patient (the 101st case) confirmed on March 2. The patient, with good past heath, lives at 8 Tai Hang Road. She is asymptomatic and has earlier been sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact of case 85. Her respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She is now under treatment at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and is in a stable condition.

The patient had no recent travel history. She attended her daughter's wedding banquet on February 22 where her husband (the 101st case) and sister-in-law (the 85th case) were also present.

​ The fourth case is an imported case which involves a 69-year-old female patient (the 105th case) with underlying illness who lives in Landwood Court, Villa Lotto, Happy Valley. The patient had visited India from January 31 to February 24. She developed diarrhoea since February 23 while in India. After returning to Hong Kong, she developed fever since February 28 and consulted a Chinese medical practitioner twice. She attended the Violet Peel General Out-patient Clinic on March 3. Her deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She was arranged to be admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital by the CHP. She is now in a stable condition. Her husband and domestic helper who live with her are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

​ The patient took the flight CX694 by Cathay Pacific from New Delhi, India to Hong Kong and arrived on February 24. Passengers on board the returning flight concerned are urged to call the CHP hotline.

The CHP's epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the confirmed cases are ongoing. Quarantine will be arranged for close contacts while medical surveillance will be arranged for other contacts. For the progress on the contact tracing of the cases, please see annex.

A spokesman for the CHP said, "According to our preliminary epidemiological investigations, clusters are observed in local community involving large meal gatherings and other gatherings. Members of the public are urged to go out less and reduce social activities such as meals gatherings or other gatherings, and maintain appropriate social distance with other people as far as possible."

The spokesman said, "The CHP strongly urged the public to maintain at all times strict personal and environmental hygiene which is key to personal protection against infection and prevention of the spread of the disease in the community. On the personal level, members of the public should wear a surgical mask when having respiratory symptoms, taking public transport or staying in crowded places. They should also perform hand hygiene frequently, especially before touching the mouth, nose or eyes."

"As for household environmental hygiene, members of the public are advised to maintain drainage pipes properly and regularly pour water into drain outlets (U-traps); cover all floor drain outlets when they are not in use; after using the toilet, they should put the toilet lid down before flushing to avoid spreading germs."

The CHP will report the cases to the World Health Organization, National Health Commission, Health Commission of Guangdong Province and the Hospital Authority.

The CHP has set up a hotline (2125 1122) for public enquiries. The hotline operates from 8am to midnight daily. As at 4pm today, a total of 27 159 calls were received.

Low-level of infection with COVID-19 in Pet Dog

A spokesman for the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said today (March 4) that a pet dog had repeatedly tested weak positive for COVID-19 virus which indicates a low-level of infection with the virus.

The AFCD first collected samples from the dog for tests on February 26, and detected low levels of COVID-19 virus from its nasal and oral cavity samples on February 27. The Department repeated the test on February 28 and March 2, and the dog's nasal and oral cavity samples, and nasal samples, respectively, tested weak positive for the virus. Experts from the School of Public Health of The University of Hong Kong, the College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences of the City University of Hong Kong and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) have been consulted, and unanimously agreed that these results suggest that the dog has a low-level of infection and it is likely to be a case of human-to-animal transmission. The dog has not shown any signs of disease related to COVID-19. It is currently under quarantine at the animal keeping facility at the Hong Kong Port of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

There are two dogs under quarantine at the animal keeping facility at the Hong Kong Port of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge at the moment, which are staying in individual rooms. The other dog tested negative for COVID-19 virus. The Department has stepped up cleansing and disinfection of the facility.

The Department will continue to closely monitor the dog which tested weak positive for COVID-19 virus and repeat the test later. It will only be returned to its owner when the test result is negative. The other dog which tested negative for the virus will be tested again before release. To ensure public and animal health, the Department strongly advises that mammalian pet animals including dogs and cats from households with persons confirmed as infected with COVID-19, or close contacts of COVID-19 infected persons, should be put under quarantine in AFCD facilities.

COVID-19 is a newly emerged disease and the situation is still evolving. The AFCD will continue to work together with the Department of Health in handling relevant cases.

The spokesman reminded pet owners to adopt good hygiene practices (including hand washing before and after being around or handling animals, their food, or supplies, as well as avoiding kissing them) and to maintain a clean and hygienic household environment. People who are sick should restrict contacting animals. If there are any changes in the health condition of the pets, advice from a veterinarian should be sought as soon as possible.

The spokesman emphasised that there is currently no evidence that pet animals can be a source of infection of COVID-19 or that they become sick. Apart from maintaining good hygiene practices, pet owners need not be overly concerned and under no circumstances should they abandon their pets.

HP investigates three additional cases of COVID-19

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) announced that as of 8pm today (March 6), the CHP is investigating three additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, taking the number of cases to 108 in Hong Kong so far (comprising 107 confirmed cases and one probable case).

One of the confirmed cases involves a 56-year-old man (the 106th case). The patient, with long term illness, lives in Block A, Po Shan Mansion on 14 -16 Po Shan Road, Mid-levels. He developed fever, headache and myalgia since March 4. He attended Canossa Hospital yesterday (March 5) and then attended Ruttonjee Hospital where he was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample tested positive for COVID-19 virus and he is now in a stable condition.

The patient travelled to the United States and Mexico from February 2 to 20 and to London and Paris from February 25 to March 3. His wife developed fever since March 2 and is now admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment. Her respiratory sample tested negative for COVID-19 virus. The patient's other household contacts, namely his two daughters, two domestic helpers and a driver, are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

The patient took the flight BA323 (Business class cabin) by British Airways from Paris to London on March 3 and then BA27 (Business class cabin) by British Airways from London arriving Hong Kong on March 4. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the two flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.

The other two cases are related to the 105th case confirmed on March 4. One of the cases involves an 84-year-old man (the 107th case) who joined the same tour to India from January 31 to February 24 with the 69-year-old female patient of the 105th case. The patient has good past health and lives in Scenic Villas, Southern District. He developed cough with sputum since February 28 and attended the University Health Service, the University of Hong Kong on February 29. He was identified and sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment by the CHP during contact tracing yesterday. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and he is now in a stable condition. His wife and domestic helper who live with him are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

The patient took the flight CX694 by Cathay Pacific from New Delhi, India to Hong Kong and arrived on February 24. Passengers on board the same flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.

The other case involves a 69 year-old man (the 108th case) who is the husband of the patient of the 105th case. The patient, with underlying illnesses, lives in Landwood Court, Villa Lotto, Happy Valley. He did not travel to India and had no recent travel history. He was asymptomatic and sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact yesterday. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and was arranged to Queen Mary Hospital for management. He is now in a stable condition. The domestic helper who lives with him is asymptomatic and quarantined.

The CHP's epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the confirmed cases are ongoing. Quarantine will be arranged for close contacts while medical surveillance will be arranged for other contacts. For the progress on the contact tracing of the cases, please see annex.

Meanwhile, the CHP is following up on the contact tracing of two overseas cases. The first one is a confirmed case in Thailand in which a male patient took the flight CX250 (First class cabin) by Cathay Pacific from London arriving Hong Kong on February 29, and took the flight CX617 (Business class cabin) by Cathy Pacific from Hong Kong to Bangkok on the same day. People who travelled on the same cabin of the two flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.

The second case is confirmed in Canada involving a female patient who took the flight CX838 by Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Vancouver on February 29. People who took the same flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.

The first confirmed case involves a 38-year-old woman (the 109th case) who returned to Hong Kong from Wuhan by the fourth chartered flight arranged by the Government. The patient with good past health lives in Shenzhen. She has all along been asymptomatic and was immediately arranged for quarantine at Chun Yeung Estate upon arrival at Hong Kong on March 5. Her respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She was sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital for isolation and treatment and is now in a stable condition.

The patient travelled alone to Wuhan in Hubei Province on High-Speed Rail in mid-January to visit her relatives and reported to have stayed in her mother’s home in Jianghan district in Wuhan without going out.

The other confirmed case involves a 73-year-old woman (the 110th case) who is a member of the same tour group as the two patients of the 105th and 107th cases confirmed on March 4 and 6 respectively. The patient travelled with her husband to India from February 4 to 19. She has good past health and lives in Block 1, Swiss Towers at 113 Tai Hang Road, Tai Hang. She has all along been asymptomatic. She attended Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital yesterday and her respiratory sample was tested preliminary positive for COVID-19 virus. She was sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment on the same day and is in a stable condition. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus upon further testing today. Her husband and domestic helper who live with her are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

The CHP's epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the confirmed cases are ongoing. Quarantine will be arranged for close contacts while medical surveillance will be arranged for other contacts. For the progress on the contact tracing of the cases, please see annex.

Separately, the CHP was informed by the health authority of Korea yesterday of a confirmed case in Korea which involves a male patient with onset of symptoms on February 27. He took the flight CX288 by Cathay Pacific in economy class from Frankfurt to Hong Kong on February 28, and then departed Hong Kong for Seoul on February 29 on the flight CX438 in economy class. People who travelled in the same class of the two flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.

A spokesman for the CHP said, “The CHP reminded members of the public that as the transmission of COVID-19 virus has been increasing around the world, they are advised to consider delaying all non-essential travel outside Hong Kong.”

Hong Kong records four new cases of coronavirus

Hong Kong saw four more cases of the deadly coronavirus yesterday, including two that showed no symptoms even after diagnosis, taking the total to 114.

Head of communicable disease branch Chuang Shuk-kwan from the Centre for Health Protection said 111th case is a 76-year-old man living in Baguio Villa in Pok Fu Lam who went on a self-formed tour to Mumbai, India from January 31 and February 24.

He is the fourth local member of the 21-people tour that has been confirmed with the coronavirus.

The man has been suffering from mild diarrhea since February 23. After returning to Hong Kong, he was went to the hospital due to continuous diarrhea but was tested negative for the coronavirus.

As a member of the Indian tour, he was sent to the quarantine center after the first patient from the cluster – a 69-year-old woman – became a confirmed case last Wednesday...

Two of the confirmed cases today are associated with the cluster related to the India tour group. One of the patients is a 76-year-old man (the 111th case) who is a member of the same tour group to India as the three patients of the 105th, 107th and 110th cases confirmed on March 4, 6 and 7 respectively. The patient visited India from January 31 to February 24. With long term illnesses, the patient lives in Block 31, Lower Baguio Villa, 550 Victoria Road, Southern District. He developed diarrhoea since February 23 and was identified and sent to Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) by the CHP during contact tracing on March 5. His respiratory samples were tested negative for COVID-19 virus and was transferred to Chun Yeung Estate quarantine centre. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus last night (March 7) and was admitted to QMH for management. He is now in a stable condition. His wife who lives with him is quarantined and domestic helper is asymptomatic and will be quarantined.

Another patient is a 59-year-old woman (the 115th case) who joined the same tour to India from January 31 to February 24. The patient, with long term illness, lives in Block 1, La Grove, 83 Shap Pat Heung Road, Yuen Long. She was asymptomatic and sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact yesterday. Her deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and was arranged to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for management. She is now in a stable condition. Her family members who live with her are all asymptomatic. Her husband is quarantined while her son, daughter and domestic helper will be arranged for quarantine.

The third case involves a 55-year-old man (the 112th case) who is the husband of the 83rd case who had visited the Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She and the father of the 84th case confirmed on February 25. The patient has good past health and lives in Hong Fook Court, Bedford Gardens in North Point. He has all along been asymptomatic and earlier sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact. His respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is now under treatment at Tuen Mun Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history and had not visited Fook Wai Ching She. His close contacts (except the two confirmed patients), namely his daughter and mother are asymptomatic and are quarantined.

The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the 112th case together with the patients of the 64th, 65th, 70th, 73rd, 74th, 76th, 77th, 83rd, 84th, 86th, 89th, 91st, 92nd, 93rd, 95th, 98th, 102nd and 103rd cases announced earlier (19 patients in total) had either visited Fook Wai Ching She in Maylun Apartments in North Point in January or February or had association with confirmed cases who had been to the temple. People who had visited the temple on January 25 onwards are again urged to call the CHP hotline and those who developed relevant symptoms will be arranged to hospitals for treatment.

The fourth case involves a 47-year-old woman (the 113th case) who is a domestic helper of the 85th case confirmed on February 25 and is a close contact of the 90th case confirmed on February 26. The patient has good past health and lives at Block 4, Swiss Towers at 113 Tai Hang Road, Tai Hang. She has all along been asymptomatic and was earlier sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact. Her respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She is now under treatment at Prince of Wales Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. Her close contacts (except the two confirmed patients), namely her employer’s husband and son are asymptomatic and are quarantined.

The fifth case involves a 41-year-old man (the 114th case) who has good past health and lives at Envoy Garden, 108 Blue Pool Road, Happy Valley. He developed sore throat, headache, runny nose and malaise since March 6 and attended the Accident and Emergency Department at Ruttonjee Hospital on the same day. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is now under treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had travel history during the incubation period. He took the flight CX542 by Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Tokyo on February 19 and then CX505 by Cathay Pacific from Tokyo for transit in Hong Kong on February 21. He travelled with three daughters taking the flight CX225 by Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Glasgow via London on February 22 and then CX250 by Cathay Pacific from Glasgow for transit in London on February 28 and arriving Hong Kong on February 29. The patient's household contacts, namely his wife, three daughters and two domestic helpers are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

The CHP's epidemiological investigations and relevant contact tracing on the confirmed cases are ongoing. Quarantine will be arranged for close contacts while medical surveillance will be arranged for other contacts. For the progress on the contact tracing of the cases, please see annex.

A spokesman for the CHP said, "The CHP reminded members of the public that as the transmission of COVID-19 virus has been increasing around the world, they are advised to consider delaying all non-essential travel outside Hong Kong."

"Meanwhile, according to our preliminary epidemiological investigations, clusters are observed in local community involving large meal gatherings and other gatherings. Members of the public are urged to go out less and reduce social activities such as meals gatherings or other gatherings, and maintain appropriate social distance with other people as far as possible."

The spokesman said, "The CHP strongly urged the public to maintain at all times strict personal and environmental hygiene which is key to personal protection against infection and prevention of the spread of the disease in the community. On the personal level, members of the public should wear a surgical mask when having respiratory symptoms, taking public transport or staying in crowded places. They should also perform hand hygiene frequently, especially before touching the mouth, nose or eyes."

"As for household environmental hygiene, members of the public are advised to maintain drainage pipes properly and regularly pour water into drain outlets (U-traps); cover all floor drain outlets when they are not in use; after using the toilet, they should put the toilet lid down before flushing to avoid spreading germs."

The CHP will report the cases to the World Health Organization, National Health Commission, Health Commission of Guangdong Province, Indian health authority and the Hospital Authority.

The CHP has set up a hotline (2125 1122) for public enquiries. The hotline operates from 8am to midnight daily. As at 4pm today, a total of 29 555 calls were received.

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

As at noon today (March 9), public hospitals had reported to the Department of Health the admission of 40 patients (17 male and 23 female, aged seven months to 96 years) in the past 24 hours who met the reporting criteria of COVID-19. Appropriate tests have been arranged for the patients.

There are 109 patients under isolation currently. So far, 59 patients with the COVID-19 infection have been discharged upon recovery.

The Hospital Authority will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.

CHP investigates additional case of COVID-19

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) announced that as of 8pm today (March 9), the CHP is investigating an additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, taking the number of cases to 116 in Hong Kong so far (comprising 115 confirmed cases and one probable case).

The case involves a 44-year-old man (the 116th case) who is the driver of the 56-year-old male patient of the 106th case confirmed on March 6. The patient has good past health and normally lives at his employer's home at Block A, Po Shan Mansion on 14 -16 Po Shan Road, Mid-levels. He moved to 341 Des Voeux Road West, Kennedy Town on his own on March 5 and was sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact on the following day. He developed a cough since March 7 and has had a fever since yesterday (March 8). His respiratory specimen tested positive for the COVID-19 virus today. He is now under treatment at Ruttonjee Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history.

CHP investigates five additional cases of COVID-19

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) announced that as of 8pm today (March 10), the CHP is investigating five additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, taking the number of cases to 121 in Hong Kong so far (comprising 120 confirmed cases and one probable case).

Two of the confirmed cases today are associated with a confirmed case in Canada earlier, being the case's household contacts in Hong Kong. The confirmed case in Canada was a member of the same tour group to India as the five patients of the 105th, 107th, 110th, 111th and 115th cases in Hong Kong.

The first case involves a 52-year-old woman (the 117th case) who is the daughter of the confirmed case in Canada. She has good past health and lives in Block 28, Lower Baguio Villa, 550 Victoria Road, Southern District. The other case involves a 48-year-old woman (the 118th case) who is the domestic helper of the 117th case who live together. The 48-year-old female patient has underlying illness. When arranging quarantine for the two patients yesterday (March 9), they were found to have fever and immediately sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment. The domestic helper reported to have developed cough with sputum and runny nose since March 4. Their respiratory samples were tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and they are now in stable condition. Both patients had no recent travel history.

The remaining three cases are related to members of a group tour from Hong Kong to Egypt from February 27 to March 7. One of the patients is a 59-year-old man (the 119th case) who is a staff member of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department. The patient has good past health and lives in Heng Tai House, Fu Heng Estate in Tai Po. He developed cough on March 7, then fever on March 8 and sought treatment at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH). He also consulted a private doctor on March 9. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He was hospitalised for treatment at AHNH and is in stable condition. His wife who also joined the tour has developed symptoms and was admitted to AHNH for treatment while his son is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

The other two patients are a couple who live in On Hei House in Siu Hei Court, Tuen Mun. The 59-year-old man (the 120th case) with underlying illness developed runny nose since March 7 and fever since March 8 while his 59-year-old wife (the 121st case) with good past health developed fever since March 7. They sought treatment at Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) on March 9. Their deep throat saliva specimens were tested positive for COVID-19 today. They are under treatment at TMH and are in a stable condition.

The three patients from the same group tour took the flight TK695 (economy class cabin) by Turkish Airlines from Cairo in Egypt to Istanbul in Turkey on March 6 and then departed Istanbul on flight TK70 (economy class cabin) by Turkish Airlines arriving Hong Kong on March 7. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.

Meanwhile, the CHP is following up on the contact tracing of two confirmed cases outside Hong Kong. The first case involves a 19-year-old female patient in Dongguan, Guangdong who took the flight CX320 (economy class cabin) by Cathay Pacific from Madrid, Spain to Hong Kong arriving on March 8.

The second case involves a 31-year-old female patient who was a passenger on board the Diamond Princess cruise and became a confirmed patient in Japan. She was discharged after treatment in Japan and returned from Tokyo to Hong Kong on the flight NH811 (economy class cabin) by All Nippon Airways on March 7. While she remained asymptomatic, her respiratory specimen collected during a consultation for her underlying illness at Queen Mary Hospital on March 9 was tested positive for COVID-19.

People who travelled on the same cabin of the two above-mentioned flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) announced that as of 8pm today (March 11), the CHP is investigating nine additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, taking the number of cases to 130 in Hong Kong so far (comprising 129 confirmed cases and one probable case).

Six of today’s confirmed cases (the 123rd, 124th, 125th, 126th, 127th and 129th cases) are related to the cluster involving a group tour from Hong Kong to Egypt announced yesterday (March 10). The patients are members and the tour guide of the same tour group of the three patients in the 119th, 120th and 121st cases.

Patients of the 123rd and the 129th cases are a couple, who are respectively a 57-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, living in Tower 7, Bellagio in Sham Tseng and joining the same group tour to Egypt. The male patient is a staff member of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department. With underlying illnesses, he developed fever and cough since March 8 and sought medical advice at St John Hospital yesterday and was admitted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for treatment on the same day. The female patient has good past health. She developed throat discomfort and malaise since March 8. She was sent to Yan Chai Hospital during contact tracing by CHP yesterday and was transferred to the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) for treatment today. The patients’ respiratory samples were both tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and they are in a stable condition.

The 124th case involves a 59-year-old woman who is the wife of the patient of the 119th case confirmed yesterday and a member of the same group tour. The patient has good past health and lives in Heng Tai House, Fu Heng Estate in Tai Po. She developed cough and runny nose since March 6, and was admitted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for treatment during contact tracing by CHP yesterday. Her respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is in stable condition. Her son who lives with her is asymptomatic and under quarantine.

The 125th case involves a 23-year-old man who is the Hong Kong tour guide of the Egypt group tour. The patient has good past health and lives in Block T, Telford Gardens in Kowloon Bay. The patient was found to have developed fever before sending to the quarantine centre yesterday and hence sent to the United Christian Hospital for treatment. His respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and he is in a stable condition. His parents who live with him are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

The patients of the 126th and 127th cases are a couple who are a 63-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman living in Block 26, Laguna City, Kwun Tong and joining the same group tour. Both with good past health, the patients were found to have developed fever before sending to the quarantine centre yesterday and hence sent to the United Christian Hospital for treatment. They are in a stable condition and their respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. Their daughter who lives with them is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

The group tour took the flight TK695 (economy class cabin) by Turkish Airlines from Cairo in Egypt to Istanbul in Turkey on March 6 and then departed Istanbul on flight TK70 (economy class cabin) by Turkish Airlines arriving Hong Kong on March 7. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.

The remaining three cases are the 122nd, 128th and 130th cases. The patient of the 122nd case is a 22-year-old female flight attendant who is a close contact of a 19-year-old female patient confirmed in Dongguan, Guangdong. The patient has good past health who lives in Mau Lam House, Kwong Lam Court, Sha Tin. She developed runny nose since March 6 and chills on March 9. When arranging quarantine yesterday, the patient was found to have fever and immediately sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is now in stable condition. The patient lives with her parents, who are both asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

The patient visited Amsterdam in the Netherlands from February 21 to 24. She departed Hong Kong for Madrid, Spain on March 3 and then worked at the flight CX320 (economy class cabin) by Cathay Pacific from Madrid back to Hong Kong arriving on March 8. People who travelled on the same cabin of the above-mentioned flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.

The 128th case involves a 36-year-old woman who is the daughter of the 69-year-old male patient of the 58th case confirmed on February 17. The patient has good past health and lives in Yee Ching House, Yee Ming Estate, Tseung Kwan O. She had been sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact on February 17 and is under medical surveillance after completing quarantine on March 1. She developed diarrhoea since March 8 and runny nose since March 9. She attended Caritas Medical Centre on March 10 and was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is now in stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history.

The 130th case involves a 31-year-old woman with good past health who arrived at Hong Kong from England on February 29. She stayed at her parents’ flat at iPlace on Castle Peak Road in Kwai Chung. She developed fever since March 3 and sought treatment at PMH yesterday where she was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is now in stable condition. The patient travelled to Hong Kong with her husband and son. Her husband has developed fever and was arranged to be sent to PMH for treatment. Her son and parents are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
