The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The spokesperson of Tuen Mun Hospital made the following announcement today (January 14):

A total of eight patients (aged 68 to 86) at a female Orthopaedics and Traumatology rehabilitation ward presented with diarrhoea or vomiting symptoms beginning January 8.

Appropriate viral tests were arranged for the patients and test results of four patients were positive for Norovirus.

All the patients are being treated under isolation and in stable condition.

Admission to the ward has been suspended.

Restricted visiting conditions and discharge from the ward have been imposed.

Infection control measures at the ward concerned have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close monitoring.

The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

Regarding a female Orthopaedics and Traumatology rehabilitation ward in which some patients had been confirmed with Noroviral infection, the hospital spokesperson made the following announcement today (January 15):

One more patient (aged 63) in the ward has presented with diarrhea and vomiting symptoms.

Appropriate tests have been arranged and the test results are pending.

The patient is being treated under isolation and in stable condition.

Admission to the ward has been suspended.

Restricted visiting to and discharge from the ward are imposed.

Infection control measures of the ward have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close monitoring.

The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
