Regarding a male rehabilitation ward of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) in which some patients had been confirmed with Noroviral infection, the hospital spokesperson announced the following update today (January 15):
One more 83-year-old patient in the ward had presented with diarrhea symptoms. Appropriate tests had been arranged and the test result was positive to Norovirus. He is being treated under isolation and in stable condition. Admission to the ward has been suspended. Restricted visiting to and discharging from the ward are imposed. Infection control measures of the ward have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close monitoring.
The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.

The spokesperson of Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) made the following announcement today (January 18):
Three male patients (aged 61-84) in the ventilator ward of QEH have presented with diarrhoea symptoms since January 16. The test results of all the patients concerned were positive for Norovirus.
Two of the patients are being treated under isolation, while the remaining one has ceased to have diarrhoea symptoms and no longer requires isolation.
The three patients are in stable condition.
Admission to the affected cubicles of the ward has been suspended.
Restricted visits to and discharge from the ward are imposed. Infection control measures in the ward concerned have already been stepped up. All other patients in the ward are under close medical surveillance.
The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
