The official report indicates that of 315 laboratory tests performed today, 111 were positive, with those infected increased to 1,010, to which a deceased is added, to add 76 since the first three cases in the country were confirmed, in the second week of March.

Honduras exceeds 1,000 infections and rises to 76 deaths from coronavirus

Tegucigalpa, May 2 (EFE) .- Honduras surpassed 1,000 cases of coronavirus infections this Saturday, while the dead number 76, the National Risk Management System (Sinager) reported.
The official report indicates that of 315 laboratory tests performed today, 111 were positive, with those infected increased to 1,010, to which a deceased is added, to add 76 since the first three cases in the country were confirmed, in the second week of March.
The Caribbean department of Cort?s is still the most sick with coronavirus, this time with 74 of the 111 new cases registered today, followed by Francisco Moraz?n, center, where Tegucigalpa, the country's capital, is located, which added 22.
The rest of the 111 new cases are distributed in the departments of Comayagua, Lempira, Choluteca, Valle and El Para?so, in the center, west, south and east of the country.
According to the Sinager report, four new recovered patients were also confirmed today, bringing the number to 116.
Of the total number of infections registered by Honduras, 25.3 percent suffer from hypertension, 24.1 percent diabetes, 18.4 heart problems, 12 percent respiratory diseases, 10.1 obesity and 10.1 percent other diseases.
People suffering from these types of diseases are most likely to contract the virus and die, so the Sinager again called for more vigilance and care, and not leaving home.
Those who have to leave, do so only when very necessary and provided with a mask and other protective measures, the state agency said.
The average mortality of the total cases registered in the Central American country is 7.5 percent.
