A 15-month-old girl has tested negative for Influenza A (H7), the Centre for Health Protection announced today.

It received notification from Queen Mary Hospital that the infant who had visited Anhui from March 18 to 31 and stayed in a farm with poultry had developed a fever and sore throat. She was admitted to the isolation ward, and her condition has been stable.

The patient's parents have mild upper respiratory infection symptoms with no fever.

Her chest X-ray was clear. Preliminary lab tests today of the patient and her parents were negative for Influenza A (H7), but the infant and her father did test positive for Influenza A (H1).

The centre said Influenza A (H7) is a statutorily notifiable infectious disease in Hong Kong and no human cases of Influenza A (H7N9) have been recorded so far.

It reminded doctors to report any suspected case of Influenza A (H7).
