Ok, I think I got this part fixed. Existing posts with ?'s stored will not be recovered -- e.g. the ? marks will stay.

But new posts will not have their accented characters replaced with ? marks.

Linuxkidd I am on a UK keyb and have been finding a lot of ? marks in the posts sometimes where the original article had no character and sometimes replacing greater than or less than signs or other extended character set ascii codes. Is this something related to the change?
