HELP: H1N1 Injection or the FluMist?? Which is most effective, given a choice?

My Question: Which option offers the BEST H1N1 immunity: The FluMist OR the Injection ... since I have the choice???

This morning, I have to chose between the H1N1 FluMist OR the Injection. Both are available to me (but either may run out quickly, so I need fast advice, please).

I'm a healthly 49-year-old female and am around kids a lot. No underlying conditions.

BTW... I always check in here in at least twice a day, though I seldom post. You cannot imagine the love and respect I have for you all, and I thank you for the hard work you do! I really believe you're the best people that I can to turn to for knowledgeable opinions (not medical advice, of course!).

Thanks! ... Dawn :)

I can't give advice but I would go with in this order myself
Flu vaccine in individual syringes-not drawn up from a vial at flu clinic site. These do not have the thimerasol -which I am not afraid of but my mom has had reactions to thimerasol in eye medications (at least that is what she said the Dr told her it was) so I don't want to risk one myself if I take after her.
Next I guess I would go with the flu MIST to save the other vaccines for those under 2 and pregnant or immunocompromised (or those who live or work with immunocompromised people) since it is a live but attenuarted virus.
Also if you get the FLUMIST H1N1 you cannot get the SEASONAL FLUMIST unless they are a month apart since they are live attenuated vaccines. There is a concern they could combine or something.
Go to the CDC.GOV website and look at the vaccine section and it breaks down the info for you.
AGAIN-this isn't advice it is just what I may do if my hospital ever gets them in....

Thanks for your input, Silvergirl.

Is there any research that indicates which form (mist or injectable) stimulates a better and/or longer-lasting immune response?
