Health Minister regrets that people do not change course
Health Minister, Esperanza Mart?nez, expressed regret that people do not change course to fight dengue, yellow fever and influenza A H1N1. He said some people react only in times of epidemic.
People know how to prevent dengue, but they don't.
Martinez said Tuesday that nearly 100 percent of the people "know how to avoid, but no behavioral actions" to combat such diseases.
An investigation by the ICA (Institute of Communication and Arts) at the request of the Ministry of Health on Knowledge, attitudes and practices of the population in Asunci?n and Central with respect to dengue, yellow fever, influenza A H1N1 reveals that most people know what preventive measures to use, but are not applied in everyday life.
"People do not change your attitude, it only does at the time of plague and not the rest of the year," the minister lamented about Esperanza Martinez.
The find revealed, among other things, that 97% of people heard about interviews on epidemics, 22% of the population to self medicate with symptoms of influenza A H1N1, 95% of respondents correctly identified dengue vs. 4% who did not know it.
