14.01.10 - 00:27 - E. MARTOS / A. JUNCAL | C?DIZ.

He died in Puerto Real's fifth fatality from influenza A in the province
The patient, a 40-year-old native of the town, had no previous pathologies that could be complicated by the virus when he joined the Clinical

14.01.10 - 00:27 -- E. MARTOS / A. JUNCAL | C?DIZ.

Influenza A claimed another victim in the province. This is a 40 year old man who died during the early hours of Tuesday at the Hospital de Puerto Real. The patient suffered no previous pathologies, such as SAS source confirmed yesterday in Cadiz, but the disease was complicated until it lead to pneumonia that killed him, the fifth that has transpired in Cadiz by the H1N1 virus and the first in puertorreale?a town.

Admission to the center is not new. He arrived with symptoms of the disease two months ago, but it was not until last week when their doctors received confirmation of the Virgen de las Nieves Hospital of Granada, which still remains the only focal point for reviewing the evidence, according to sources explained the center contacted by this media.

The victim was a native of the town and did not belong to any of the risk groups, which had not been vaccinated. Little did he think that that first admission would have a terrible final. The victim was due to spread during the surge of cases that occurred in late November, coinciding with the forecasts made by experts. At that time the incidence rate was affected to reach 400 per 100,000 and was where the new virus filled the corridors of primary care consultations.

Other cases
The patient spent his final days in the ICU and treated for pneumonia resulting from a strong flu. The hospital sources claimed that during the time of admission was deteriorating situation suffering various diseases, all arising from contagion.

With this new death are now five cases have been reported in the province. It is recalled that since last summer the Board fails to provide timely information on deaths by order of the World Health Organization , gives only data on incidence and mortality rates.

The previous victims were a woman of 50 years suffering from a respiratory problem that was killed last July in Algeciras. Two months later she had an 18 of a heart attack after catching. This center served another 28 years Asturian girl who died in late November after several days of hospitalization. Neither had previous pathologies and therefore had not been vaccinated, as the late Puerto Real. The latest was in early December at the Puerta del Mar. This is a 44-year-old native of Cadiz, which had just been diagnosed with leukemia and was starting to receive chemotherapy.

During this week is expected to pick up again where the cold wave. Experts insist that there is a serious disease, but the disease can be complicated in nature. It is not usual, so call for calm and urge caution against the cold.
