Tribune New Service
Chandigarh, February 6
With two more ?suspected? swine flu deaths being reported from Sirsa and Panipat, the total number of casualties has risen to 12 in the state, which has 72 confirmed cases of the virus.
But Haryana?s nodal officer for swine flu Dr Kamla Singh said the official number of deaths remained 10 since the Sirsa woman was suspected to have died of complications arising out of ailment other than swine flu.
?Her test was done at a private lab in Bathinda (Punjab). We consider reports only by the PGIMER or those of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as authentic. She was suffering from diabetes and other ailments which could have caused her death.

The 50-year-old Panipat resident, who died in Delhi?s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, also had a private lab report confirming swine flu which is why the state authorities are sceptical.
