Yet another child has died of suspected diphtheria in Sirsa taking the death toll due three in the past five days.
Civil Surgeon Dr Suraj Bhan Kamboj confirmed the death of 6-year-old Joginder from Bappa village with symptoms of diphtheria. The deceased had fever and a sore throat for the past four days. He was shifted to the General Hospital when his condition deteriorated yesterday and died in the evening.
Dr Kamboj said though the victim had the symptoms of diphtheria, a report was awaited from the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD).
